My school is disadvantaged (S01E) so hence I'm applicable for EAS, and I also have 5 subject bonus points. If UNSW allows 5 bonus points for EAS, does this mean I'd receive 10 bonus points altogether?
Have an ATAR of 80.15, aiming for B Science which is 84, I'd like to get an idea of my chances.
My goal is B Science, which for 2014 required an 84. I received an ATAR of 80.15, but also have 5 subject bonus points with me.
Do I have a decent chance of getting in?
I'm worried if the cut off is going to increase, but the year before that, it was 84 as well.
English Adv – 202/218
Adv Maths – 29/110
Ext Maths – 30/40
Biology – 74/155
Chemistry – 46/91
Physics – 24/56
School rank: 160s
(Last thread forgot to place in school rank, learnt my lesson)
If I stay at UTS for a year (BSc in IT), and transfer to UNSW Compsci does this mean I start at year #2 of compsci or #1?
Provided that the credits aren't transferred, but I already know the topics? UNSW has comp1917 and comp1927 on openlearning, I plan to do them.
It seems one can transfer from B Science to Computer Science provided they have at least a 65 WAM.
My goal would be a 70 WAM. How hard is it to achieve this during the semester 1 exams of the Computer science electives? Does this mean I need to maintain a 70% average across all exams?
Edit...
Starting to fill in my preferences for UAC, interested in mainly Comp Sci, but at UTS I can't find such a course.
I've heard that UTS has a different name for Computer Science, so would it be 'Bachelor of Science in IT'?
I don't like the idea that it is business oriented, I'd honestly...
For anyone who's finished or is doing the degree at UNSW or USYD (please specify), I'd really appreciate it if you could answer a few questions.
How difficult would you say it is? (Perhaps, as a comparison with the HSC: Phys, Chem, Ext1 Maths?)
On a daily basis, how many hours did/do you...
Let's say either Comm/IS or Comm/Eco, would I be for example able to have a part time job alongside the duration of my degree?
Compared to HSC, how time consuming are they?
What would your weekly schedule be like? Is it 5 days a week? On free days/weekends do you usually spend time...
Hi, so I had received my report, and it was a major downer for me, I studied, but ultimately didn't do as well I wanted to. However with my current ranks, I hope to get an idea what ATAR I'm headed at, and perhaps with Trials to go I can improve a few places.
School Ranking: around 170s...
Assuming you get 93+ in your ten units, for me: adv maths and english, bio, phys and chem (matrix calculator result in these figures for a 99 atar).
And what if you attend a large senior school where there are around 400 students doing the HSC, and bio for example has more than 200 students...
Half yearlies just went by and I recently received my results for the 2u test the other day. Didn't do too well in the ext test and received 75% in 2u :/
Most of my friends got 85% +
Should I drop ext maths, (I think I'm probably last in the entire class)?
I want to get at least a 96+ ATAR...
Hello everyone, I just joined boredofstudies and also just chose my subjects for year 11. I'm going to St Mary's Senior High (luckily I made it in!), and today we had to go through through the enrolment process which also included choosing next year's subjects.
Here they are:
