For HSC 2010 Chemistry question 33)b) I used the correct equations and got the final answer. However the sample answer's half equations says at the cathode oxidation occurs (equation flipped) while at the anode reduction occurs (equation did not flip). can someone please give me some insight on...
I'm currently studying for 3U and was wondering how often does the HSC actually ask General Solution questions? I've never really studied them or done any questions on them, but they seem extremely rare.
I have this assignment on how I need to find practical applications on trigonometric functions, and I found Aerospace engineering to be the most easiest since there are more sources on it on google. Now I have found formulas that have trig in them but my assignment says I need to show how to...

Use the four standard forms to find the equation of the parabola with vertex at the origin and with the follow properties:
a) axis vertical, passing through (4,1)
b) axis horizontal, passing through (2,-2)
I don't understand what it means by axis vertical/horizontal, if anybody can clarify...
Here is the question:
If the volume of a cube is
increasing at the rate of 23mm^3/second
find the increase in its surface area
when its side is 140 mm.
To win a trifecta in a race, a

third in the race. For a certain
race, Marie wishes to bet on
every combination possible to
win the trifecta. If there are 12
horses in the race, how many
combinations will she bet on?

How would i find the exact value of cos(-225) and Sin(315), can you please show me how you got to it, i used to know this but when i was revising i was completely lost.
1)i)Given A,B and C are angles of a triangle and:
TanA/5 = TanB/6 = TanC/7 = k, show that k= Square-root of 3/35
ii) Hence calculate the smallest of the angles to the nearest minute.
I'm kind of lost in this question, any help would be great thanks!
y=x^2-6x+8
Factor and sketch the quadratic. Hence find the range of each function (i) with unrestricted domain. (ii) with domain x is greater than or equal to 5, (iii) with domain 0 is less than or equal x which is less than or equal to 5.
Any help would be appreciated
If alpha and beta are the roots of x^2 - 5x -5 = 0 find a^2+b^2, a^3+b^3
Is there a way i can manipulate the question to solve it or is there a rule that i must follow.
y=x^3
y=x^2
Use substitution
I know the answers are x=1 y=1 and x=0 y=0
but i dont know how people got x=1 y=1 with working out. Obviously it could be general knowledge but how did people get it. Please help
