    Union clubs and the like

I think you'll find the new organisation will be not-for-profit, and will focus heavily on the student activities side of things rather than the food and retail aspect (which I assume is why you think it will be for-profit). The organisations have amalgamated to save money in staff and services...

    Music societies

There is a list of all of the Student Guild affiliated clubs on the CASOC (clubs and societies on campus) website - http://guild.unsw.edu.au/casoc/clubA.html There may be others as well who aren't affiliated...

    b.sci(adv)/arts

In my experience it's not too hard to pick up an extra degree once you have started - I know heaps of people who started in science or medicine (myself included) and ended up adding an arts degree - I added mine after I'd already done two years of study. But call the Science faculty and ask them...

I don't know about the second part, but the teaching rankings I was referring to were published in (I think) The Australian last year. It forms part of the graduate assessment - when you graduate you fill in a survey asking all these questions about your course and stuff like that. They also...

    general UNSW chit-chat

Rumor has it that they were used for one of three options: 1. suicide doors 2. alien landing pads 3. to get computers into the upper floors when computers were the size of houses It may or may not be that only one of these three is the real answer...

That's actually the interesting thing about Council, is getting to have a say on the balance of where the Uni money goes. Unfortunately though there is only so much you can say in 150 words, but I definitely agree with the points you raise. I agree with you about the Old Main building, really I...

    Uni Elections - Source results

Tharunka comes out every three weeks. Tharunka and Blitz usually share the same distribution points, but Blitz is the one that comes out every week.

    Uni Elections - Source results

Blitz has an editorial policy that says it must cover both sides of any political issue. As a result, any time it has published anything on VSU, it has given both sides. The political publication on campus is Tharunka - put out by the Guild - which encourages students to write artices on...

Have a say on UNSW student organisation VSU plans

Hi guys, The UNSW student organisations are holding a discussion forum for students to give feedback into the changes that are being suggested to student organisations in preparation for VSU. The changes are quite drastic, with the proposal outlining a merger of the Source (Union), Guild, PGB...

    Uni Elections - Source results

Hi BOS'ers, For anyone who is interested, the results of the Source (formerly known as Union) elections are out today. They're officially out tomorrow but I can give you a sneaky preview :) The three candidates elected to the two year positions are (in no particular order): Caitlin Hurley Eker...

Thanks :) As I said earlier, if anyone wants me to explain any of my policy ideas I'm more than happy to go into more info. The pink form accompanying the ballot forms has a bit of a summary, but there's only so much you can say in 150 words!

Funny you should mention that... I am running for University Council :) The papers for that election will arrive this week some time. They are pink with a red envelope (so I'm told) and yeah, I'd appreciate it if people voted for me ;) Am happy to put up more info about what I'm running for if...

    Wheres that Thai place?

Ouch! In my defence (and by my defence I mean the Source's defence), with VSU coming in some of the food outlets on campus will need to close over the holidays. The simple reason is that the holiday campus population is simply not big enough to support all 12 of the Source's outlets...

If you take the envelope in to uni, you can hand it in to the elections office (in the Chancellery), or drop it in to the internal mail through someone on campus (The Source or the Student Guild would probably be a good bet) - it doesn't have to have a stamp for the internal mail system...
