Don't be too worried, the Actuarial Society of UNSW (ASOC) runs various support sessions for 1st and 2nd year students. In particular on the use of MATLAB and VBA also there are support sessions for MATH1151/MATH1251 you should visit the society website for more information http://asoc.unsw.edu.au
