I didn't sit it this year, because I was overseas for most of my 3 month break at the end of the year and didn't get to study for it. But I definitely will be sitting it next year.
You shouldn't be so panicked, there are other ways to get into medicine as well as other things to do instead of medicine. I was like you in year 12, I wanted to be a doctor since forever and was full set on doing medicine straight after high school but I didn't get a high enough ATAR or UMAT...
I didn't do the maths one, but I did do the chemistry one. It was very helpful
imo, gave me a little kick start when I had to do chemistry 1 when I started because I knew how to do like the first 3 or 4 weeks worth of lectures.
It varies depending on what you want to specialise in, something like being a G.P is around 4 years I think, while something like Surgery is about 6 or 7 years. You need a B Medicine/B Surgery here in Australia to actually become a doctor, but also you have to go through training in a hospital...
I'll be 20 - 3 year course :D but hopefully when I finish my first course, I'll be able to get into post-graduate medicine, which is about 4 years I think, so I'll be about 24-25 IF I get into medicine as well afterwards.
