All nighter on BoS on dec16th

+1 It's near impossible to make me angry, but omg. I felt my temperature rise. I don't care who gets what mark; it's no indication of how successful they are as a human being. :vcross:

    2009 society & culture exam

So happy to end on a good note. That first section...I couldn't have written the questions better. Dear BoS - Thank you. THANK YOU. Even the essay questions weren't too bad...weren't as praiseworthy as the first section, but still...managable. A very, very kind exam which was much appreciated!

How many people have found a job already?

Finished this afternoon, after I gather all my books to sign out tomorrow I'm going to adjust my resume to start handing out after that. No rest for the wicked :)

HSC '09- the most paranoid year.

Don't be scared, the rubric dot points were changed ever so slightly, and by reading between the lines most teachers and members from BOS (I rang the advice line about it, lol) interpreted it to mean less focus on other interpretations, more on your own. That's not to say that you write "I think...

HSC '09- the most paranoid year.

I did Hamlet. In it I mentioned context, and how its reception varied slightly for a contemporary audience, but I didn't focus on films at all, or other stage productions; after the rubric changed, there was more focus put onto our own interpretations, instead of others. I think I may have...

    Good luck!

Aww, that's really nice, thanks! To all you up and coming HSCers, I hope you took advantage of your last school holidays ever, from now on you're going to have to focus 24/7 if you don't want to be freaking out this time next year. Hey, I did and I'm still freaking. 24 sleeps! :jaw: And...

    SAM is broken again!

Not to sound like a broken record, but I can't choose my subjects either, even though I've had it all set up and working beautifully before.

to what extent can i expect my trial results to rise in the actual HSC?

The rule of thumb is that you improve 15% from mid course exams to trials, and then a further 10% from trials to HSC, with hard study. Then again, m pretty sure my mid course exams were better than my trials...

    After trials...?

    Rank Your Exams

    1. Society and Culture 2. Ancient History 3. History Extension 4. English AOS 5. English Modules 6. English Extension 7. Biology I think. History Extension is a hard one to place. It could be number one, or number seven, I never know how I do until I get the marks, lol.

    All in a Night's Work.

OMG. those posts were the most excruciating things I have ever read, and I've read a few shockers of books over my 13 years of schooling, spesh in Extension English. As in, I felt sick to my stomach. I didn't feel relieved at ALL handing in the PIP, I feel worse now about it now than in the...

    Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey?

I understand exactly what you meant, I cried at the end of the movie cos I thought "how on earth am I meant to discuss this when it makes no sense??? There goes my HSC!!!" Basically I did the same thing though when I found out that our teacher took the dicator, totalitarian option of forcing...

    Tragic Hero dot points!!!!

I'm struggling to write a essay on Hamlet for class, and i was wondering if everyone/anyone could list a few traits of a tragic hero: Example - having a fatal flaw. the essay asks us to discuss how Hamlet's soliloquies enhance our understanding of him as a tragic hero, so as you can see I'm not...

    How do you access History?

This is basically the fundamental question for my history extension project, as it falls under the dot point "an interdisciplinary approach to the study of history of a personality, issue or event". I'm incorporating some of the methodologies I've learnt in Society and Culture, and plan to focus...

    twilight series

The Twilight series (I've read the first three, waiting for the fourth to be available at Library) seems to essentially tell a interesting story which conveys many universal themes, particularly in regards to love, however is done in a very basic way. The Harry Potter series has depth and...
