Correlation between ATAR (degrees) and future salaries?

Unfortunately no... I say this as one of the 'rare breed' of people that decided to pursue an unconventionally high UAI/ATAR cut-off degree that has no correlation with potential future salaries. I'm studying Visual Communications Design/International Studies at UTS, and the cut-off for that...

Is Design (visual communication) better at uts or uws!

Oh right.. so there's some seriousness to the thread. Like you heard, it is incomparable.. Yes, uais are based on supply vs demand, but obviously there has to be a reason for UTS design's extremely high demand vs UWS design's extremely low demand.. I can't speak for UWS as I didn't really...

    Fashion and Textiles Design course

Unfortunately you wouldn't be eligible for the bonus points. However reaching over 96 isn't an 'impossible' goal, so do your best. :) Think of it this way... This bonus point system only got introduced TWO years ago, meaning for the last 30 years or so before it, students had to achieve the...

    Band 6's.

I guess transferring within the university system would be a better choice than trying to get in from TAFE... Although if you do go into other design degrees as a 'stepping stone' for vis comm, i'd suggest you keep this quiet from the lecturers/tutors, as they might be offended by it. You will...

question on B vis comm &/or B ind design

I'd say it doesn't hurt to study it. It is recommended on their handbook, but luckily it's not an assumed knowledge. I guess if you didn't study art in high school, but are willing to make up for it by studying extra hard at uni, you wouldn't fall behind. :) However if you haven't made your...

    Early-Entry.

Don't worry too much about scaling.. Just do your best :) There are people who get as high as 98 with Standard English... It really is all about the efforts at the end of the day. :) Also about your other question..Int studies is a seperate degree of its own, where you study a language, and...

    2009 Main Round cut-offs

This is totally possible considering they only gave places to FIVE people into the course according to the uni offers search engine. The cut-offs are obviously based on supply vs demand. 511718 B Eng (Aero) (Space) 99.60 course also only had places for seven students, hence the high cut-off. I...

Bachelor of Design 2009 cut-offs discussion

Could you tell us how many people there are in the B Design program? I'm just curious. By the way, interior design looks cool too...Especially judging from the works on display on the design faculty's website.. I was contemplating between the two when I was filling out the 9 choices. :)

Bachelor of Design 2009 cut-offs discussion

It's ok you can add on the BA int studies after a year of single degree in B Design if you meet their criteria, so you should apply for the single degree as well if your uai falls short. My friends sister did that.. Though her UAI was 97 point something when she added on int studies on top of...

I guess these days not everyone wants to be doctors or lawyers with that mark.. Also last year, fashion design and visual communication design had 99.9 cut-offs as well. Though this year, its now Interior design flaunting those digits. They are probably hoping to be the 'creme de la creme'...

Probably, but for whatever reason in this world, those people can make a living through working in motion graphics, animation, web design, film/broadcasting, advertising/branding design, magazine/editorial design, photography and so on.

Accept the offer for now, and deal with deferral with the university. :) At least that's what I was told to do, so I can travel with my friends to Europe. :music:
