Trolley contractors (not store employees) actually get paid very well. Most of them are in 100k+ and it's very tough to get into.

Also try to apply asap. I think timing has something to do with it. Coles seem to do record overs in a very inefficient way. You have to write the product code, category code, amount of stock and expiry date for perishables on a sticker and put that on the box and they then input those codes...

You can wear either shirt at any time during the day (unless you have a douchebag manager). The polo is far better even though it doesn't look as good as the button up, as it needs far less maintenance. It's such as pain having to iron the button up Coles shirt multiple times and it gets dirty...

Don't they have the other conditions of employment on it? Like the benefits you will receive, pay rate, etc. I haven't seen any Woolies one but ones from other companies usually have those included.

Saw it on the noticeboard. If you are part time you should also be accruing entitlements such as leave and should still have the job security even if you are on probation. You should still be getting the Sunday loading (and other ones minus the 20% casual loading) though. The only people...

Apparently the new agreement went through with a 95% yes vote. Anyone know when we'll be back paid? I'm also wondering if I've left the company before it is back paid, will I still receive it?

Same, had my Coles induction today. Will be quitting Woolies once the rosters are sorted at Coles. There's a fair chance but you're better off asking the DM and putting your name forward to be sure.

Sigh, more changes in Nightfill. Now everyone drops the nightfill load then people will be selected for perishables on rotating basis and the nightfillers go to their aisles. Their also planning on having everyone finish by 1am so that means more people and shorter shifts. We were told that if...

Not sure, the clause regarding it was in the old EBA but I'm not sure if the PT people knew about it then. The booklet about the new EBA displayed the clause and I assume that's where they heard about it and talked to management about enforcing it. It's section 4.6.2 btw

Yeah credit on debit is back though you still have to input your pin/sign for all purchases. Working last night they were 7 hours short due to the rules about getting weekends off once a fortnight (or something like that). Even with people taking on extra hours I suspect they were there at like...

I believe the so long as the amount is <$100 (the default paypass amount; the retailer sets their own threshold) they can tap and go. Not too sure what the amount would be for inserting the card though I assume it would be the same. Do the new paypass pinpads really still disallow 'credit' on...

Doubt it'll happen. WW seems to be close of offloading DSE with EDR dropping support for them next month. Paypass is so convenient at Coles. WW doesn't even have the credit option so you always have to input your pin.

Make sure to contribute as much as you can and try to take the lead in your group if possible. Uh.. paid votes? Pretty stupid imo.

Yeah still voting no. Can't let the union and Woolies get away with this esp with the staffing cuts. Also I've heard that there is and extra day of compassionate leave and sick leave on pay slips in the new EBA. Overall though very little seems different from the old one aside from the...

9.34% over 3 years. 3.113% p.a. Slightly more than I'd heard but still poor once you take into account inflation.

    The Woolworths Thread

Considering inflation a 3% pay rise is barely anything in real terms. It is also decreased from previous EBA's which were 3.5% and 4% respectively I believe. I've always wondered why people called the SDA a useless union and now I know why. Then you have their affiliations to Catholic Labor...

Re: UWS Chatter Thread All mine are $30+ One of them even costs $54 and I couldn't find an second hand readers for it since it's a fairly small unit. According to the unit coordinator it was supposed to be around $20 but Connect bookshop jacked up the price. I'm thinking that if the...

Well at least starting to gain momentum. Likewise in our store it's been going on since the end of last financial year, but they were fairly minor until now. Definitely voting no for the new EBA.

Yeah, massive cost cutting is starting, though nightfill is more affected. They're going to get the load numbers right so they more or less only have enough for what is sold. I've also heard that that head office has instructed 300 hours across the board to be cut from all stores.
