The Eternal Question - Advanced or Standard

I recently dropped to standard after averaging 65 in the prelim advanced course. My question is, if I get 80+ in standard english, along with 80% in my other subjects (chem, phys, maths, design and tech) [and 40% in Maths Ext 1] is it possible for me to get 80ish ATAR. Thank you :)

    why english is compulsary

I reckon there should be a compulsory subject in the HSC - but make it any 2 units English OR Maths. That way there is still a compulsay subject, but it offers a shitload more choice

    UAI Calculator

I know this isnt SAM or anything, but im using a different ATAR calculator and it asks for 3 things, HSC mark (which is the exam mark?), percentile and scaled mark. I was wondering is the percentile my school based mark and what is the scaled mark?
