from every law firm i have contacted (almost a dozen) none has yet to hint that they prefer USYD law graduates over any other. in fact they rather experience and know how. i fail to see the infatuation many people have with usyd law. i personally think its the "want what i cant get" mentality...
i imagine if u receive ur 2nd or 3rd preference u shuld accept it. however, i wuldnt rule out the 1st preference as if there r vacancies in the late round u stand a chance once more. also, dont worry if i sed i reckon med science will increase...i culd b very wrong.

i doubt there will b major fluctuations with any course however these r some of my (very uneducated) guess-timations for any changes in atar cutoffs:
a. communications cut off will increase
b. law cutoff will increase at unis such as uts, uws, monash, maq
c. science (mathematics) cut off will...
If u wer hoping to get into unsw eng i would stil think u hav a chance of making it in. I believe unsw giv bonus point for maths so fingers crossed mate.

honestly, who cares what other ppl think of your uni. for the large part, many employers dont giv a rats arse where you got ur degree from. so let a few misled and ignorant ppl think its a crap uni and dw bout it. everyone noes the uni rankings r not a 100% accurate indication of the quality of...
y shuld u change courses after having ur heart set on that course all yr, simply bcoz u achieved better than expected? if nything, u can choose any uni u prefer to do that course or u myt considering applying for teaching scholarships... just a thoguht
How do you shift courses from med (a more scientific course) into comm/law (a more social science course) so nonchalant? if ur interested in med wouldnt u hav med(usyd), med(unsw), etc... as ur preferences? or r u simply undertaking courses that are prestigious?
