Leaving school and studying at OUA as an alternative entry?

Hello, I'm thinking of dropping out of school and doing a BSc at Open Universities Australia then applying for a transfer to an on-campus university after a semester or two. What do you guys think? Thanks.

Language certificates and alternative entry to BSc?

It seems the main two other options are studying at Open Universities Australia or sitting the SAT test.

Language certificates and alternative entry to BSc?

Macquarie University - Undergraduate Studies For those interested, this basically lets you do a certificate of languages, transfer to a diploma, then transfer to a BA. That works out well because you get to study full time one language, recieve your credentials, and then start a BA doing...

Language certificates and alternative entry to BSc?

Ok, but in any case, I'm considering doing the non-award as a pathway to my degree program. Is it at all possible to get into the non-award program without any certificates beyond the SC? Any way to display my aptitude for the units I'm applying for? The form only leaves two small spaces to...

Language certificates and alternative entry to BSc?

Well major is a bit far away since I haven't even enrolled but I'm most interested in earth sciences. I don't understand what you mean by 'how far I wish to go'. I wish to go until fluency, I suppose?

Language certificates and alternative entry to BSc?

I assume that in doing a science degree, taking up two languages with multiple courses makes it difficult to pursue a science major. Anyway, what do you think on alternative entry? Am I elegible to do non-award language courses? There's really no info on the site about who is elegible.

Language certificates and alternative entry to BSc?

Hello, I have not done the HSC, and I am not yet mature age. I would like to do a BSc at Macquarie and also study Russian and Mandarin. I'm guessing because they are not covered in a BSc program, I must do them as non-award subjects in addition to my BSc. Is this how it works? Anyway, what...

If you do 11 units, how do they pick your top 10 units?

Yes but how does that work? How do they halve your physics mark? Which assessment tasks count towards that 50?

If you do 11 units, how do they pick your top 10 units?

So, say you do one extension subject, totalling 11 units. If you do well in every test but, say, English Advanced, how do they decide your marks? Because it's 2 units, shouldn't that mean they would only take 1 unit out of your worst subject to determine your marks?

Did anybody do really badly in yr11 and then achieve a 90+ ATAR?

Just wondering- what were your subjects? I'm doing ext1 maths and 3 sciences so I think it will be more difficult for me to redeem myself, but thanks for that! :)

Did anybody do really badly in yr11 and then achieve a 90+ ATAR?

Well, basically, I flunked my year 11 half yearlies. A failure for Ext 1 maths, and 60s for other subjects. I put this down to poor study habits which I've improved considerably since. I'm aiming for a 96+ ATAR. My self-confidence is down a bit (not faith in my own intelligence, just my...
