I don't think you even need to do that - if you're doing a BSc and complete the BSc adv requirements you automatically get awarded the advanced degree.
There's some that can be awarded automatically, but most require an application that was probably due around October.

Not at all, at a university level they're completely different.
If you wanted to do computer science you wouldn't do a BSc - there's a seperate degree for it. I think at usyd that's also true for ag sci, but I may be wrong.
