    UNSW Subject Reviews.

I had Ellis for Summer 2014. He's pretty anal about his marking (e.g. notiation of chain rule, squiggly line or arrow above indicating vectors etc), so you might lose some marks there in the Class Tests that other students might not. But he does it with the best intentions, doesn't beat around...

Average salary for a High School teacher ?

It works in a number of "steps" I believe. So the document I've linked at the bottom, on page 6 it talks about how you progress to different steps (YT = Year Trained, at Uni I assume). And page 21 shows the the salary for each step. Although this is and old document (2011) you get the idea :)...

    advice

Firstly grats on finishing Yr12! Hope it was a blast. And dw bout stressing over UAC, really normal haha. I remember changing my preferences down to the last minute (and I just realised it closes in less than an hour, so not sure how much this will help you :P) Many tutoring colleges will hire...

    Double degree worth it?

Only issue I could see is with length, it is 5.5 years long which is longer than most (bar med and some law degrees). Ask some people doing it/people who have graduated if you get a chance because they generally give the best advice regarding the course structure and content itself based on...

    B Education (Secondary: Mathematics)/B Science

How'd you find the degree? I'm just finished UNSW 1st Year (BEd/BSci (Mathematics)) and sad to say having second thoughts. I still enjoy the idea of becoming a teacher but the maths in 2nd/3rd year looks like it gets ridiculously hard. I did 3U at High School, but it seems like Uni maths will...

Elitist Selective school mentality makes me rage!

Hmm not sure how bad the first point is but there are definitely disruptive people in selective schools (probably not to the same extent) Your second point is quite fair, your mark will get dragged up due to the strong cohort Not sure what "not sure what special facilities/programs" you're...

Elitist Selective school mentality makes me rage!

the english paper 1 wasn't all that bad... it was probably a tougher paper than usual but not sure it would be fair to say that "an average student – and this is the whole state here – they would not be able to read that much text in reading time" and who cares about selective school people...

Elitist Selective school mentality makes me rage!

Elitist Selective school mentality makes me rage!

stuff is being stirred man :P going through all the selective school circles.... but yeh, it's fair enough to hate on an easy because it true that it probably doesn't differentiate to those who know their content extensively vs an average knowledge like you could have not studied that much and...
