    Share your 2012 ATAR here

91.75! I am so very happy, I was expecting around 70! I am still shocked. An ATAR calculator told me I would get 83...so needless to say I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw my actual ATAR! :D

    To all HSC students stressing

Oh man, I am in that exact position right now. I'm pretty bad at physics but I thought I'd be somewhat alright tomorrow, then it just ticked over to 11pm and I realised that I actually do not know a SINGLE THING, despite studying my ass off. It's going to be a horrible day tomorrow. A horrible...

    Section 1, Part A - Multiple Choice

Some of the multiple choice questions were confusing. For the biscuit one I put that the various species did not have the same chance for survival. It just seemed to be the best answer at the time.

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

Frankenblade was alright, I just used my essay from the trial and talk about how the concepts were shown through form. Hamlet was semi-okay, I didn't write much for it though. The Fiftieth Gate was epic because I didn't need 2 related texts. Hoping for a half decent mark.

How did you write the number of booklets on the front page?

I did the second one, and I didn't even write what section I did...I wrote the question number instead. Since there were 11 questions and only 3 or so sections. Did I do that wrong? =/

    Anyone else not memorizing?

The way I do it, I have a basic introduction that defines belonging and stuff, and I can slot a random thesis into it and expand on it. Idk why you got so hyped up over that, but whatever.

    Anyone else not memorizing?

I am just using my creative from the trial, which I still remember. So I didn't even have to study that. However I refuse to memorise an essay...because honestly, I don't see how memorising an entire essay can help you when you'd probably have to completely change it to answer the question. I've...

    Who else is shitting bricks?

Kill me now, my essays sound like they were written by a 5 year old. I also can't remember my quotes, no matter how hard I try. Do you think if I made up some quotes from my related text (a short animated film) the markers would know?

    CSSA general maths

Some parts of the exam were okay, others weren't. That bearings question...I just wanted to stab somebody.

    CSSA biology

I said A. I was tossing up between A and B too, was probably a trick question.

    Umat advice!!

Haha, I have barely studied for UMAT at all. Actually, I haven't studied. At all. It'll freak me out too much if I do. I'll look over a past paper and then I'm just going to go in and do my best. Haha.

What have you done in the holidays?

I had this whole sheet that I made telling me what to do each day in terms of study. That went down the toilet and I basically did nothing, it was a mistake to buy The Sims 3 this holidays. I did some physics and bio notes (learnt nothing) and tried to memorise english quotes (learnt 1 poem) and...

History and Memory: I don't have any idea where to go with this.

Alright, good luck. If you need any more help, just say so :D

History and Memory: I don't have any idea where to go with this.

Basically, analysing something is picking it apart, looking at the techniques used and what the author is trying to say. So, each analysis has to focus on the history and memory aspects. The Fiftieth Gate uses historical documents that Mark Baker has found (because he's an historian, he likes...

What does your desk look like?

I really don't understand how your rooms and desks are all so neat! That is an impossible task for me! Le desk Le other desk Le floor

Matrix HSC Trial Exam Prep Courses worth the money?

Ahh, okay. It looks really good, and the fact that they give you good notes is great. It costs a fair bit though =/

Matrix HSC Trial Exam Prep Courses worth the money?

    Is anyone burning out?

I am almost completely burnt out. I had 3 english assessments due last week and have more next week. I am so sick of school, I just want to leave already. The main thing that's stressing me out though is the fact that I want to keep my #1 ranks but I don't think I can.

    Hsc careers expo

I went today. It was good, heaps of stalls for different unis and after school options. It was very worthwhile, but it was pouring in Sydney today and the roof of the place was leaking. >_>

How to Achieve an atar of 82?

Ace the trials and the HSC, they are worth the most. Do lots of study, start now. Write lots of notes and don't leave assignments till the last minute. If you put the work in you can get an ATAR above 82 for sure.
