I had the same problem last year for my English grade. I realised it wasn't just the assessment tasks.. :< I apparently didn't contribute enough to class discussions so my ranking dropped and my friend came in the rank before me haha. But at the same time you seem to really care about this...

Instead of getting work experience in law firms you could go to public court cases and note down whatever you need to know or find interesting while watching a lawyer in action! :-D

I agree, sometimes if it comes up as a term used to poke some fun then it's ok. I hear boys in my school calling every single person that along with other swear words @__@ not very nice..

Go through work sheets and high light sentences and read read read read!!! Ancient history shouldn't be too bad although I have no say in it ^^
