Good course and subs to get a high GPA?

What course would you recommend where it is (not so much easy) but very achievable to get a high GPA? How much effort/ how do you prepare to get a really high GPA in this course? I was thinking about commerce (would it be achievable to get a high GPA here?) but i'm open to other things...

Gov may reinstate cap on uni places

'More recognized'? There are no gradations to whether a degree is recognized, it either is or is not. Yes internationally it is almost exclusively JD with Australia and some parts of Canada offering JD (yes the JD is the term coined internationally)... The American system is purely postgrad...

Gov may reinstate cap on uni places

I'm not sure, he works in America and calls himself an attorney. He knows a lot of employers in Aus and spoke to them for me, i also spoke to Sydney and UNSW uni twice and once respectively.. if anyone wants to question the validity of anything a lot is on the uni website or talk to them. They...

Gov may reinstate cap on uni places

They are both equally recognized in Australia and although uni's wont say it, my uncle who is attorney says JDs are preferred over LLB's when considering applications as the JD as it is a specialized degree (not combined) with a more practical approach to a critical analysis of the law + it...

Gov may reinstate cap on uni places

Don't see how this will make a difference... people will just transfer post grad. Universities are a money making business, they wont allow this (not to say it wont happen), but there are other ways to get a degree rather than straight from undergrad. Unis dont care whether they hand you a...

Law entry should be made harder

i'm not sure if i agree with you there though at least not until i get in haha. Take into consideration that most graduates wont practice law especially in undergrad, most lawyers tend to have done the JD.

Law entry should be made harder

Its actually easier to get into post grad medicine than it is for law. undergrad med --> 99.5 ATAR + high percentile in UMAT + interview Post grad med --> Credit-High Credit average in any course and blitz GAMSAT Undergrad Law --> 99.75 ATAR Transfer in one year --> 98 + ATAR + High-Credit...

Out of UMACQ law and UTS law which is more reputable/prestigious??????

Crobat. It's an incredible piece or warp logic to account for such a small sample size and assume that this fact is empirical or remotely consistent for a larger demographic. Prestige is extremely important in the law field. Believe me there are no shortage for lawyers, and for good reason and...

Out of UMACQ law and UTS law which is more reputable/prestigious??????

Law is one of the only fields where prestige does matter. inner city firms tend to only hire from certain unis, and they tend to be one of the big 3 (in sydney) USyd, UNSW, UMAQ (to a lesser extent maq) I wouldnt take the risk with either, do postgrad law. the JD is internationally recognized...

    JD entry.

Hey. I know the JD entry is only GPA. But i was watching some interviews with JD students and when they asked what their undergraduate course were a lot of them said arts/ phyc and occasionally commerce or eco. Are the calculations scaled as such to account for difficulty in subjects for...

    Economics vs Commerce vs Arts

Which is harder between eco and commerce? In terms of achieving a distinction in Usyd or UNSW I plan to do a 3u bridging course so assume math is not a weakness. As a springboard to get into law after 3 years, what would be the best option in wanting to do a subject and achieving a distinction...

    Past papers and writing essays!

If i were you i wouldn't start with the HSC questions yet. It is too time consuming at this stage and really, it doesn't help as much as people think it does. If you prepare essays at this stage you constrict yourself to a certain amount of points of discussion as people tend to get lazy and...

    Need help! ATAR Estimate

1st/2nd in everything would get a 99+ including at least 1 state ranking. Top 5 as a bare minimum for a 95+ English will let you down if you're not in the top 10. Something that could easily be achieved with effort is 3rd in chem, 5th in bio, top 10 SOR, top 3 in math, top 3 ext and top 15...

    Transfering to same degree

Would it be wiser to transfer to the same/ similar degree from say, Law/Commerce at Maq to Law/Eco at Usyd Or rather would it be better to transfer internally form Eco in usyd to Law and Eco in Usyd? Are there any biases? Which would be easier to achieve?
