Anyone considering getting a mentor, do it. Mine was lovely, and made the transition into uni a whole lot easier.

Last year I prepared well for three and hoped for the best. For the remaining speeches, I did some analysis that I could have fallen back on if need be. And no, you can write about the speeches in any order you want.

If you're just doing it as an elective, I'd just drop it and chose something different.

May I recommend MHIS101? It's a new unit as of this semester, so there's no indication of the workload involved, but it does look pretty interesting.

For me, Ancient was very interesting :) But before you decide to pick it up for Year 12, ask the teacher what topics you'll be studying to make sure you're interested. If not, the workload will kill you.
