    Studying languages for interest?

To be frank, I'm not even entirely sure of what I want to be; part of my decision is influenced by my parents' high expectations of me (which is sorta funny, but not really). So it'll be impractical to do a Bachelor of Arts with no certain path I want to take. "baker" - sorry I lol'ed...

    Studying languages for interest?

Thank you! This is heaps helpful. :) I don't mind some of the subjects, but I have no other intentions of taking Bachelor of Arts other than learning a language, and according to my mum it's worthless so she's against it (lol). But I think I'm not going to take Bachelor of Arts in uni; though...

    Studying languages for interest?

How many electives would I have to take within the 3 years of my degree? Are they long or short? Sorry, I don't know much of this uni stuff. But that's good, I'd rather take language units for my electives rather than do the short courses anyway. I see that you're taking a BSc (Adv Maths)/BA...

    Studying languages for interest?

Hi, I'm in Year 11 and currently thinking of possible degrees to take in USYD. I'm set on taking Bachelor of Science (or any Science degree of the sort) and Masters of Nursing (not quite sure with this one, but quite a possibility) with the intention of proceeding to post-grad Dentistry...

Dropping Maths or Eng Ext 1?

I agree that Maths would be more useful than Eng Ext, but it's just so time consuming AGH! Eng Ext is easier though so I can cope with it. Does prelim marks matter once you get into Year 12 though? I have a feeling my results are pretty shit atm, haha.

Dropping Maths or Eng Ext 1?

I took up Maths Ext 1 this year to give it a try, then took up Eng Ext 1 in Week 7, so I'm pretty behind. I took both extensions because I thought I'd be super smart and also because I would get more free periods (I have 12 units) and now it's exams and I'm really stressed. I don't know why I...

    Help with 14 units?

I thoroughly thought about it over the course of the day, and I decided to drop Italian. I wasn't intending to do Italian for my HSC anyway, and I ended up getting 6 more free periods which is always a good thing haha. Plus I always thought of Italian as a bludge subject so I never tended to...

    Help with 14 units?

Yeah, I heard from my friends that they've barely written anything in their book. That's good, I'll actually be able to immerse myself in English rather than just read notes all the time. Haha. I'll see how I go with it tomorrow. :)

    Help with 14 units?

That's what I'm a bit worried about, the workload and being independent. In Advanced, we're given heaps of notes and we're expected to write our essay from those. Is it the same in Extension, or will I have to make up my own notes and write my essay from that?

    Help with 14 units?

I'll see what I can do with 14 units and see if I can cope with it. If I do, then I'll keep it, if not, I'll probably know my decision by then. Wonder, I would say Italian's one of my better subjects in terms of difficulty compared to workload. Maths is, dare I say, a bitch, because of the...

    Help with 14 units?

Just today I picked up English Ext with the intention of dropping Italian, but I wasn't sure so I ended up not dropping Italian and now I have 14 units. But the problem is, exams are in around 2 weeks and a bit. English Ext exam is in around 4, which is relieving. I am in a bit of a pickle...

Is it too late to change subjects?

My half-yearlies start week 9-11, yay for me hahaha

Is it too late to change subjects?

Yeah, that was the problem - Physics and Bio weren't on the same line so I would've had to change my entire timetable! I was already settled in my classes and I liked my timetable so was really indecisive about it, hence this post. I've decided so stay with Physics because I doubt I'll be able...

Is it too late to change subjects?

Hey guys. I'm in Year 11 and as you can see on in my signature, I do Advanced English, 2U Maths, MX1, Physics, Chemistry, Music 2 and Italian Beginners. I initially wanted to do Biology and Chem, but everyone suggested to do Physics instead of Biology, and I thought "Why not? I'll just change if...

Do you need 2U Maths to do Science in uni?

I would understand if it's for Advanced or Medical Science, but what about just a Bachelor of Science degree?
