    SMH article: offers below cutoff

Seems to be wrong or bad data in that 'how low does it go' section It then says the average ATAR cut off is 97.7 for UNSW comb law, which seems far more accurate (fwiw, at usyd it's 99.1 for comb law).

    USYD Chatter Thread

Re: Semester 2 USYD Chatter Thread I like it, well much better than the old one at least. That looping video is completely unnecessary though.

    Failing a unit/s!

$1,283 if you do it next semester (for a business unit), deferred to your HECS. If you do it during summer/winter school it'll be a lot more expensive as it's charged at full fee - $3,900, but can also be deferred. For OP, you do get a blank slate if you internally transfer. Failing a unit...

    Semester 1 USYD Chatter Thread

You're probably not going to like BUSS1002, pretty much the entire assessment schedule is 3 mini-essays (2x 750 words + 1x 1000 words), and then participation marks. Fun unit though, definitely a lot more interesting than 1001 imo.

    Apple Watch / iPhone 6

Pretty much the same reason I went with the Sport. Had mine for just under a week now, and have to admit it's a pretty nifty device. Wore a Pebble before, though utility-wise this a whole different beast. Love checking Tripview while on the move without having to pull out my phone. Activity...

what atar do i need ??

You could just do arts (82.50 cut off this year) and then later transfer into BA/BEc in your second year. With arts you can still do all of your first year economics units anyway, so it won't impact on your progression.

Does university of Sydney do a combined degree like UNINSW? Commerce/Media

Don't think you can actually major in both media and marketing through commerce, the only way seems to be through BA (MECO) in which case you'll have to do 3 majors (meco, something from arts, marketing). Check it out here. If you end up doing commerce, there's only really 2 of the core units...

    Transferring into Media and Communications?

Check this document to convert your marks to an NRSL (non-recent school leaver) rank The NRSL rank for admission is usually lower than the atar cutoff (e.g. for law, p.24 of this document shows it's been about 3 points below the atar cutoff). So assuming it's about the same for meco you'll need...

Is HD average much more employable than D average Commerce student???

Most places I've talked to tend to have a some sort of WAM threshold, once you pass that you're going to get a much better ROI from working on other things like internships (for experience), ECs (well-roundedness), hobbies/interests (so you're not some soulless careerist) and what others have...

    Increasing fees in popular courses?

Raising fees by a bit for a few degrees doesn't automatically make the entire higher education system suddenly only for "rich people". Besides, HECS takes care of these sort of issues. It's the cheapest loan that you'll ever get in your life with no upfront payment and considering it's subjected...

When did you/ are you going to get your driver's license?

3rd year uni and still on my L's, lol. Never really felt the need to drive though, I'm walking distance away from the station and worst case scenario I'll just taxi/uber it.
