well since your aim is to number 1 i think you should go against what the people at school tell you and do what you think is right? Our school ranking is 39 for those who don't know. I would say drop down to 12 units like the norm because it's easier to handle :)

I agree! Just do your best, why bother dropping now- you would have practically wasted many hours studying + only your best 10 are taken as you know so it's not like it should impact that much

Just wondering, you can always appeal a decision if you get rejected from an enrolment at a Selective School. Some of the letters sent back don't tell you why you were not successful, especially the ones where you send a report it. Has anyone ever tried, and succeeded?
