Re: Representing polygon at an angle in 3D space with 2D shaded region on its x-y pla
Thank you so much braintic! I just realised that I already have calculated the vertexes of where the objective function intersects with the constraints as a part of my solution and did what you said and it...

Thanks, I'll definitely give those a go! Also thanks for letting me know I reposted in in the extracurricular section, I thought "Mathematics" meant maths in general haha.

Hi,
I've been working on a Simplex problem and would like to include a 3D graphical check where I graph the objective function (z=9x+7y) along with constraints (e.g. 10a+5b<=5010a+5b<=50, etc.) like this graph or page 2 of this pdf (so that I can visually confirm the solution as the highest...

Hi, the mark cut-offs for each award depend on the difficulty of the test and also how participants in your year level and state perform.
You do not have to get close to full marks for a Prize, it can be as low as 80, but usually more.
A medal is different however, you will need to get much...
Yep you're right, it's me! My user doesn't really help but you probably know who I am. :D
I joined around last year to discuss ICAS maths Qs with other ppl to have an idea of how many I got wrong (I know it's pretty useless discussing things post-exam but I couldn't help it XD).
I got a...

Thanks :)
There aren't many people at my school who actually care about competitions so it's nice to talk about them with ppl who do them.
Just post your thoughts on any maths/science competitions you have/will be participating in this year.
So yeah...I just enjoy doing comps lol :P

Hey everyone,
Is anyone going to the University of Sydney Science Gifted and Talented Discovery Program 2014?
Just started this thread to talk about which workshop you're going to, where you're coming from, and whos going etc.
Here's a link for more info...
I have a problem that I found on a practice paper for a maths challenge and would like to know how to tackle it:
Find the integral solution for 'n',
(1+3+5+7...2n-1)/(2+4+6+8...2n)=115/116
Help would be greatly appreciated!
Many Thanks,
MineTurtle :D

Re: Australian Maths Competition 2013
Btw guys, in QLD most schools have received the results in the Australian Maths Competition.
My school has published our results and I got Prize Winner :D
Maybe we can share scores to figure out cut-offs in different states.
I'm soooo happy!!!
