Theres a more recent one from 2013 floating around somewhere on google, if you type in the correct thing that has essentially the same stats. Though thats around when they introduced a new policy where they actually weren't allowed to use scaling for any subjects. Whereas i know at UNSW they...
I think its 8 people doing a bachelor of science (adv math) instead of just science (adv), but i know for a fact some of them didn't get their university medals for math honours.
I don't know how relevant these stats are from 2000, but i doubt they've changed dramatically. It's also a...
MATH2961
Ease:7/10
Difficulty can be a little deceiving, since the majority of lectures and the course notes go through proofs/theory and hardly any examples are covered and your left to figure out a lot of stuff on your own. Vector calculus was mostly just computations and number crunching and...
CHEM2915
Ease: 9/10
First 5 weeks were pretty much revision of organic from first year, more curly arrows and more things to memorise. Quantum was a little wishy-washy, wasn't very rigorous. I don't really know if spectroscopy was hard or not, but it felt like some of the things we were supposed...
Re: USYD Chatter Thread - Semester 1 2016
Don't really know tbh, don't have any previous research experience and i think most people have the same skills doing science. So i'll probably do some research into one of the projects i wanna do and just elaborate on that then add what i want to do...
Re: USYD Chatter Thread - Semester 1 2016
Anyone here done a summer research scholarship for any sciences before? Not sure what to include in the personal statement.
Re: USYD Chatter Thread - Semester 1 2016
Haha, I think I've gotten used to him now, like most of what he says is understandable, but some things just don't make any sense at all, could be worse though.
Re: USYD Chatter Thread - Semester 1 2016
I know MATH2961 lectures are recorded this year, for Ruben atleast, dunno if Daners will when we have him for 2nd half.
Never seen that done before, and doesn't really make sense cause dispersion forces come from randomly polarized electron clouds, and idk how your gonna represent dispersion forces there without drawing the electron clouds.
