Science's don't come naturally to me, although I enjoy them and work hard. I'm worried my marks aren't going to be good. Edit: I enjoy science, I didn't just choose them for scaling, in case anyone gets the wrong idea. My marks are good, just not great.

Also, how do the extensions scale in order?

What subjects does everyone get tutored for? Currently I'm only being tutored for Maths but I think that Physics and Chem are going to need to be remedied. I have a private tutor for Maths as it wasn't always my strong point and it stresses me out at the best of times.

I have my first day tomorrow, and I just found out my Pastoral (homeroom) class, and I'm really happy with it! Hopefully it's going to be a good year :)

Some schools don't offer 5.2/5.1. If you go to a selective school chances are there is only 5.3.

About 1 in 5 engineering students are female nationally, so yes, chances are you will be greatly outnumbered. Although more females are picking engineering, it's still not a popular choice, unfortunately.

Be sure to ENJOY year ten, it was by far my favourite schooling year by far. Work on study habits, but don't burn yourself out. I believe that writing things down helps you with remembering things, whereas typing isn't as effective. Is that just me or?

My favourite subjects are English, Maths, Science, and History (hence my subjects for next year, I can't pick a favourite!). I am absolutely determined to pursue Mining Engineering at UNSW.

It's policy at my school that we HAVE to bring our laptops, but I think writing your work/notes makes it stick in your head better.

People who are doing EE1 and MX1, what do you prefer? What career would you like to go into?

I hope to pick up MX2, but I don't think my school will let me do 14 units, three of which being extensions...curse SOR. I think people really struggle with the idea that one can be good with English/Humanities AND Mathematics/Science.
