Mate's been repeatedly taking sickies during exam time

I have this friend who has a system of taking days off when an exam is on and asking around for the questions to the hidden exam the next day. He has done it before for a Bio prac exam and when i approached him he posed me the hypothetical question: "why wouldn't you do it to get an advantage...

    Liver question

Are vitamins broken down by the liver? It's part of a cloze passage. I'm thinking that along with old red blood cells and alcohol, vitamins are also broken down by the liver. Edit 1: i mean, my only other option would be within the kidneys, but they get rid of excess salts and water and...

OP could want to pursue a career as a diplomat to an Arab nation or interpreter in international affairs.

    Calculus

I got r=0.21 and x=0.42 as well. However, the question is asking for the lengths of each individual piece. So: you just sub in x and r into the length of the wire or sum of the two perimeters (P=4x+2(pi)r=3) Length of square piece = 1.68 cm Length of circle piece = 1.32 cm ^to 2 dp

General maths or 2 unit maths?

All comes down to appropriate time organisation, both General and 2u will require work and attention to attain/maintain good marks/ranks no matter what route you follow. I personally wouldn't recommend dropping. Not only is there a bountiful supply of resources (teachers, past papers...

I need some help with a math problem.

So far i've been able to deduce that 12/x^-4 > 0 Beyond that i'm stuck. Edit 1: Okay, so if i sub in any number besides 0 into x^4, i always get a number greater than 0. I think this means that 2/x^2 is concave up for all x cant equal 0. Dunno though.

Is anyone studying the Fundamentals of Mathematics (MATH1011) course? How is it?

Hopefully looking to undertake this course once i complete my HSC. I am really interested in furthering my math skills, but unfortunately i didnt take the 3-unit course in high school. I have seen the syllabus, but i would rather hear some first-hand accounts. Thank you :)

    Passive transport question

Answer is B, though i dont know how. There are large molecules on the outside of the cell, which means it cant be water because thats a small molecule. The large molecules are too large to simply diffuse into the cell. Wouldnt the water molecules inside the cell osmotically diffuse out of it to...

    Need Ideas

For the first stimulus piece: A sect of a religious group committed heinous acts against a certain country. The now xenophobic country, outcasts ANY adherents of the religion with extreme prejudice for the fear of terrorism in order to protect the greater public. These adherents condemn the...

Any ideas for a historical seminar?

Context: For an upcoming assessment task we must present a 15 minute seminar on a chosen historical personality. I have chosen Woodrow Wilson as my personality. The topic of the seminar is "Explain the significant events in the life of the personality you have studied". Issue: However, as this...

I did not like Ben Afflecks Batman. BvS rant.

Keep in mind i did enjoy Ben's portrayal of Batman/Bruce Wayne. I just have a minor issue to pick with this incarnation of Batman. He kills people! Mercy is supposed to be apart of the hero's schtick. He would not let himself succumb to his own hatred and kill any criminals. No matter how bad or...

Not doing as well as I hoped? :(

Like my SOR 2 teacher said, Year 11 is meant for students to make as many mistakes as possible so they can truly become ready and confident in themselves for the HSC in the next year. Its like a testing ground of sorts. All masters were once novices initially. Be not fearful of shortcomings...

Does a nucleolus exist in a non-dividing cell?

I know that for Mitosis during Prophase, the nuclear membrane must dissolve in order for the condensed DNA (now chromosomes) within the nucleus to freely move about to each pole of the cell and allow for later stages of division process to occur.

    Robert Hooke & Cell Theory

In 1665 Robert Hooke an English scientist, observed a honeycomb structure (dead cells) with a piece of cork using a primitive compound microscope and commented that they resembled compartments in which monks lived and termed them ‘cells’. It was actually in 1838 when a German botanist Schleiden...

I feel so inadequate with my courses.

I look left and right throughout this whole forum as well as at my school and i can't help but feel inadequate and insufficient with the courses i am currently doing. I was one of the few who didnt choose any of the traditional "well scaling" subjects such as an extension subject and Adv. Eng...
