My solutions to the 2019 Mathematics Extension 2 Paper

You'll be fine as long as the method is legit. Examiners are always aware of legitimate alternative methods.

    BoS Maths Trials 2019

This is a great paper guys! Wow are the questions good ;)

What raw marks in extension 2 generally correspond to state ranks?

Ironically that year Anthony Henderson got 100 raw, the only one so far.

Does anyone have copies of trial papers from this year?

I wish you all the best for that state rank! I too would love to see someone from a lower ranking school toppling the selective schools in the 4u state rankings.

Does anyone have copies of trial papers from this year?

Agreed. I must say though it's always great to aim for a state rank, and your marks prove your definitely capable of it, don't have your heart fully set on "I must state rank or I've failed." In 4u your competing against the best students in the state and so when I did my HSC I wasn't...

Does anyone have copies of trial papers from this year?

Eh that's pretty alright, been asked before in Sydney grammar iirc Was the induction comparable in difficulty to last years HSC one? As for the rectangle one, that's pretty standard imo. So as as usual nothing that inspiring, but I guess even the HSC is becoming less and less inspiring every...

Does anyone have copies of trial papers from this year?

How'd you guys find CSSA compared to HSC? Any interesting parts in Question 16 or was it quite boring?

    ATAR Estimate

STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Science is VERY math heavy. Technology although not as math heavy, still requires you to learn a lot of math (I'm talking about this as Computer Science, Software Engineering etc) Engineering is just as math heavy as Science And well Math is...

    ATAR Estimate

Honesty doesn't need to come with rudeness. You can be honest and polite, you should try it

    ATAR Estimate

Sorry but I highly doubt you will get in the 60s for software and in the 50s for English and Maths

    ATAR Estimate

Most likely yes. I think they actually stopped doing 'mystery marks' so atar wise I would say in the 20s There are many alternative pathways such as TAFE and what not. You should consult your careers adviser because you could perhaps get a diploma at Tafe and then transfer to something like...

There's always a decent way to say things to others or do u you not realize

What raw marks in extension 2 generally correspond to state ranks?

Yup what TheOnePheeph said. Reverse quotient rule is a dodgy inspection method of getting the answer. I'll explain So we have I = \int \dfrac{lnx}{(1+ lnx)^2}dx Observe that the denominator is of the form (something)^2. The only way we can get this is when you differentiate something of the...

    MX2 Marathon

That's me not reading questions properly again lol.

    MX2 Marathon

You sure it's constant for circles of any radius? ;)

What raw marks in extension 2 generally correspond to state ranks?

We all know what happened the last time they tried that *2014 HSC*. All the top students/state ranks literally did it in two steps because it could be done by inspection. So na after that disaster I don't think they will haha

    Gantt Chart

True, but I would be very concerned if someone couldn't make a gantt chart on excel, especially since it's so simple and there's thousands of tutorial videos

    MX2 Marathon

Have you had olympiad training by any chance?

    MX2 Marathon

It was a probability question(as expected). Unfortunately what I meant when I said "it was in our trial" is that it was in my schools trial, not the one I sat but rather the year before. I was able to see the paper and well I was puzzled with their answer. It was rather hard to explain and...
