HSC Chemistry SOLUTIONS / Thoughts / Predictions

I'm pretty sure I got 20/20 for the multis 😈

HSC Chemistry SOLUTIONS / Thoughts / Predictions

What was the answer to the pH question, where part one was like, show that the concentration of calcium ions is 0.1mol or something?

HSC Chemistry SOLUTIONS / Thoughts / Predictions

One of them was on finding an equilibirum constant given all these stupid equations connecting the concentrations of each species

HSC Chemistry SOLUTIONS / Thoughts / Predictions

I can't remember exactly, off the top of my head there was an increase of 50 somthing degrees, so the maximum was 70 something.

HSC Chemistry SOLUTIONS / Thoughts / Predictions

Wait...everyone got a ph of 7.0 for that solution equilibrium question right? I think I stuffed that question up, but I'm confident with majority of the rest.

    HSC Physics Predictions / Thoughts

Maybe its just one of those particularly saucy questions that end up having two correct answers

    HSC Physics Predictions / Thoughts

True, only 1 mark as well haha, I'm sure we both did amazingly and this will be reflected on results day lol

    HSC Physics Predictions / Thoughts

Isn't X within the inertial frame so that time is t0, while Y observes t, which is greater than t0, so it takes longer for Y? I just don't understand this question

Also for question 17, what was the answer? I think I may have got this wrong, as I said D because the speed must be constant so it travels the same distance in the same time. I thought B and C were wrong because it should be the opposite, and A is obviously wrong.

I think I said withdraw the rods. The questions says the liquid slows down neutrons to increase the rate of fission (this part doesn't make sense to me, though) so if the liquid leaks, to compensate, you need to do something to increase the rate. As the rods absorb neutrons, they slow the rate...

    HSC Physics Predictions / Thoughts

No, I'm not, science degree lol, I don't think I'll manage a 99, given my other exams, but chem's my best subject so it should pull me up. Good luck in your 99 😛

    HSC Physics Predictions / Thoughts

Yooo, chem on monday. Gon be a sad, busy weekend, but hopefully I can scrape in another 95+ if I do enough past papers lol. All my friends are finished for good, except me 🙄

    HSC Physics Predictions / Thoughts

I basically used the suvat equations to determine its speed as it entered the cylinder, which was like 3ms-1, and then said as displacement varies linearly inside the tube, the velocity is constant so the net force exerted on the magnets is equal to gravity meaning its 9.8ms-2, which makes the...

    HSC Physics Predictions / Thoughts

I think I may be able to scrape in 95 raw marks for this one, if all goes well and the marking is easy. What HSC mark do y'all think that may align to. I really need this exam to pull up my atar, so I'm hoping maybe 97-98?

    HSC Physics Predictions / Thoughts

Have we agreed on anything for the Hertsprung-Russel diagram? I think I said age, because colour and luminosity are the values on the axis, so there's variation and there's stars with the same colour but different luminosity, so their surface area, and resultantly mass, must be different?

    HSC Physics Predictions / Thoughts

Also what were the limitations of using special relativity? I said since it was moving slowly, it didn't really effect it and that it was non-inertial. I think the former's a bit of a stretch though
  17. N

    HSC Physics Predictions / Thoughts

The bottom term (mv) in the wavelength equation is the momentum of the particle, so you use momentum dilation formula.

HSC Extension 1 Mathematics Predictions / Thoughts

The vector multiple-choice solution is wrong as well isn't it? Shouldn't it be D and not A, or am I missing something obvious?

HSC Extension 1 Mathematics Predictions / Thoughts

Looking at the sample answers, I think my raw marks are 67/70. What hsc mark do you think that will align to? I cannot believe for the differential equation I did y as a function of x and not the other way around. I'm so stupid lol. But I would only lose 1 mark for that, wouldn't I? But I think...

HSC Extension 1 Mathematics Predictions / Thoughts

Vectors and differential equations were my favourite topics, so I'm sad they didn't include more of it, except a simple dot product question and circle with radius 1 differential. I'm glad the only stat was empirical rule though.
