I'm not sure how it works but if you try year 11 your chances are slim because you're new but for year 12, if you can try out, then do it after you've shown people you are capable and likable for a year (saying that being yourself is the best approach).

Sinc you're in year 8, only stuff u did in yr7 and yr8 will be tested.

You can get past 90 but since you don't have any ext. subjects, there's nothing that'll boost you up too far, but as long as you get good results you can get over 90.

Basically year 7 and 8 maths. So, what you've learnt so far in high school maths.

Practice, practice, practice in writing. Reading a lot helps too I guess.
