Should I pay an Indian to do my eco homework?

What kind of "holiday homework" is this anyway. Assigning a whole module during the holidays instead of teaching it in class??? Someone has seriously messed up here in their planning or they're lazy

2023 Graduate; 99.95 ATAR; State Rank SDD & Maths Advanced

Hi! My name is Samuel, I'm a 2023 HSC graduate, offering 1 on 1 tutoring for Software Design and Development (SDD), the new syllabus equivalent Software Engineering, and most levels of Mathematics (Advanced, Extension 1, Extension 2, Yr7-10 upon request). Academic Achievements - ATAR: 99.95 -...

    2023 ATAR/HSC Marks

Your working out is fairly poor, but I can follow your solution quite fine. Let's go through the marking criteria; Calculates the correct z-value. While you did not notate what the z-value is, it is there; but some markers would argue you didn't actually say what the z-value is. Personally I...

    2024 HSC Chat

i know you've heard this 1000 times but very seriously, the summer holidays is the 100% best time to recharge and reset for the HSC year. don't overwork yourself; I don't think I did more than 3 hrs on any day in the summer holidays and probably averaged around 1-2hrs. focus on high yield...

    State rank phone call

don't believe everything you read... FIC's historically are under strict confidentiality until hsc results day, so noone should really know if the calls have been made or not. just wait and see??

Do teachers ever find out what ATAR you got ?

I suspect they are using an atar calculator. https://www.uac.edu.au/media-releases/confidentiality-of-atars I know this is old but it still applies. "Schools do not receive ATAR information"

[Live POV] 2023 Extension 2 Maths Paper except you are the teacher seeing it for the first time.

I absolutely agree with every single part of this. Particularly in that exams are an incomplete snapshot of a person's ability -- even their ability in that field of study.

[Live POV] 2023 Extension 2 Maths Paper except you are the teacher seeing it for the first time.

Imo, this depends - what is the purpose of the question? Is it to test mathematical intuition and ability for deduction? In which case I think it is a good use. Or, is it to test direct knowledge of the course content, and the ability to form evidence-based conclusions with rational logic? If so...

    Mathematics Extension 1 Predictions/Thoughts

ah ok mb. I assumed you were not going for one of the few courses that does require a 99+ atar

    Mathematics Extension 1 Predictions/Thoughts

Just to let you know.. a 96 vs a 92 in extension 1 maths is a rather minimal difference to your ATAR. The atar contribution (effectively, what your atar would be if extension 1 maths was your only subject), in 2021, was 99.9 for 96, and 99.3 for 92. Effectively the upshot of this is that...

    Mathematics Extension 1 Predictions/Thoughts

That second last question 14ci is super well designed. From an outsiders perspective looks like a fair paper. Q11 and 12 are fairly easy, Q13 is more complex to interpret but moderate difficulty, (I swear I have seen something incredibly similar to b before), Q14 is hard (esp cii). Maybe...

    SDD Predictions/Thoughts

ooh interesting, i did for the second one (not doing it in railroad so here it is in ebnf) Expression = (<Number> | <Variable>) {<Operator> (<Number> | <Variable>)} both of ours still fits all the criteria for expression so i'm pretty sure both would be marked right?

    SDD Predictions/Thoughts

Multi way is fine (binary selection would also be fine assuming they are using the normal marking criteria for pseudocode - it'd be very non-standard for them to mark it requiring multiway).

    SDD Predictions/Thoughts

I cannot imagine why in the world you would have to use the symbol for punched cards. A punched card is an incredibly archaic form of information transmission - that has absolutely got nothing to do with a mobile phone, and is 100% not used in a 2fa system! Software marking is usually rather...

    Maths Extension 2 Predictions/Thoughts

i'd note too that hsc papers tend to have a wider spread of difficulty than many trials - most trials will have a (relatively to other papers) difficult q11-16, or easier q11-16. however, (relatively to other papers), hsc (esp 2021 & 2022) tend to have an "easy" q11, "medium" q12-14, "hard" q15...

How do you get part ii? Particularly, how does one obtain the product of tans? I can't see any straightforward way to get a product of tans from the complex roots (of unity)

    Maths Extension 2 Predictions/Thoughts

hoping for easy/not-too-much-writing q11-13 that can be zoomed through so i have a chance at not needing to skip any marks later on
