    Is Matrix+ any good?

Yeah this is true. I think for maths doing it yourself using a textbook is good, but I don't like the science textbooks all that much. If you want to teach yourself, you can try and get a hold of some school's teaching slides (probably yours).

    Sorry, I didn't do economics :(

    Is Matrix+ any good?

Every tutoring centre sucks for english. Try and find a good private english tutor asap - in year 12 I wasn't able to find someone who did my texts and was good. You could start with figuring out exactly what texts you are doing in year 12. A good hack would be to ask people in the years above...

    Is Matrix+ any good?

Personally, I think that Matrix+ is the best offering that Matrix has. The only thing that comes close is the holiday course, but in that you don't get official support/assistance throughout the term if you need it (but if you do go that way, hmu 😂). I think Matrix+ is good because you can...

    Wish List Thread

They're pretty ordinary in terms of comfort but I really like the way they look. I think normal converse has a grungy and youthful aesthetic so this approach to a similar design has more sophistication. Also another thing on my wishlist is a mirrorless camera, because photography seems...

    Should I do Ext 2?

Hi! I highly recommend that you try taking the 4U course. Doing the 4U course will make the 3U content quite simple and you will find that with enough dedication, the 4U exams will begin to become 'doable'. Moreover, the 4U course is not actually that difficult compared to University Maths...

    How to start studying

If you're having trouble getting started from a break, or are studying but are also getting distracted, I like to dedicate one day to doing no work and doing something fun. The mentality afterwards should be; 'I've had my fun, now I gotta get stuff done'. This beats having really long study...

    Dr Du vs Private tutoring

They are cheaper if you compare them in terms of cost per hour. Tutoring centres are good because some of them have a competitive and/or supportive environment, which can help motivate you. Tutoring centres also mioght be advantageous because of the resources they have, but this isn't as...

    Dr Du vs Private tutoring

Tbh I think it depends on: 1. How easily you grasp concepts. For example, students in a1 are pretty bright and so can understand concepts quite quickly, so some of them benefit more from being taught harder content at a more rapid pace. 2. How motivated you are. For example, a class full of hard...

    Is PEAK physics good?

I didn't go there but I heard that Zhangs is really good. Personally, I liked the matrix online course because I would rather self-study the entire term's content in the first couple weeks. One of my friends got 99.90 with matrix so its probably okay. However, I think the matrix term course is...

for those who got 99+ what did your study pattern look like

Yeah I 100% agree. Living on campus sounds like a dream. A good portion of the COOP cohort lives on campus because we get a one-time discount and a number of the COOPs are also interstate students. Apparently the day-to-day experience of living on campus is like being on one of the faculty camps...

    possible to improve rank drastically?

I agree. I would say that in top 10 schools the top 10 would have near-flawless performance throughout the year. Anyway, for the person who make the forum post, at a top 5 school I think that getting top 20 should be your goal but under one condition: that you are top 20 in each subject. The...

for those who got 99+ what did your study pattern look like

To be honest, I liked every year of high school except for year 12 because in year 12 I put too much effort into my academics. Looking back, years 7 to 11 were really great because it was more of a social experience than anything else. I also believe that high school is an identity-forming...

    Chem tutoring centres?

Personally, I think matrix has the best chemistry notes (they have a large book for each module) but the problem is their classes are quite slow and can have students who aren't really driven so the atmosphere isn't the best. I heard that Zhang's is pretty good as well, but I have not been there.

How do I study early in the year?

Since you have the Edrolo subscription I would say that you are in a good position to self-teach the course during these holidays and maybe the first few weeks of each term. What worked for me was to read a textbook and watch videos or ask someone whenever I got stuck. The advantage of doing...

UNSW STUDENT HERE, PLEASE READ THIS

The main thing HSC students should take away from this is to not stress out too much, and to study more effectively rather than for longer periods of time :) Nice work though @x___y , I'm glad that everything worked out well :D
