CASIO fx-8200 AU - new calculator coming next year.

Sorry, I hadn't realised anyone saw what I wrote, when I edited most of it out. Personally I am thoroughly against the IB. I am totally for HSC while it is what taxpayers money paid for government schools are only allowed to offer. Of course some other State and Territory do allow for some...

new $1349 talking calculator approved for 2025 hsc

Everyone and anyone eligible can do the HSC to improve their future prospects. The prices of house and whatnot are only going up and up, and having HSC might assist anyone with disability or not to have a better chance and find the work that's needed to get such in the future. Have a nice day...

new $1349 talking calculator approved for 2025 hsc

No, not at all, in today's times.

CASIO fx-8200 AU - new calculator coming next year.

I expect it'll only be private school students in NSW who'll use the fx-1AU , if it's approved for use the International Baccalaureate (IB). Leaving NSW Mathematics curriculum much in the backwards time of when Mr Bob Carr was Premier, and students all continue to just use Scientific Calculators...

    Australian Maths Competition

Thanks Tywebb. From your post first saw that Dr. Chatawut Chanvanichskul has made the 2023 AMC papers available, but he has set them to view only. Cannot even download, however he's doing better than AMT for interested people, with his putting up last year's papers. Saw you put up solutions...

CASIO fx-8200 AU - new calculator coming next year.

That's interesting, but can't figure why the Casio employee would say that, with why the reduction would help Casio's reputation. I can't remember, but believe the FX-82AU Plus 2nd Edition and the FX-100AU Plus 2nd Edition might only have been out about 3 or 4 years. Probably from next year...

(subject selection) is it too much for workload?

It's scary to think they'd expose students to all of C, C#, and Java, as well as Python, HTML (with CSS). C# and Java to do in depth other than the basic language constructs will take a while... I've read somewhere a while ago, that automation/robotics can be done with C#, but it'd be more of...

(subject selection) is it too much for workload?

Python is much nicer/easy programming language good for NESA to mention it explicitly in the Course specfication, rather than letting school randomnly figure out what a good programming language is. The NESA Enterprise Computing course specification has no mention about programming at all...

(subject selection) is it too much for workload?

Good points about how each of the courses have content focused on particular parths in IT. However, I doubt either course by themselves is enough to become either a professional software developer or professional data or business analyst right after HSC. I'd expect students on the path to seek a...

(subject selection) is it too much for workload?

IPT has been easier than SDD, but too early to say if the new Software Engineering will be more difficult than new Enterprise Computing. I'd guess at the moment, NESA would've made them similarly challenging. Have you looked at the NESA Course Specification for Software Engineering. Python...

Were you allowed to keep your graduation caps and cloaks?

Had to hire the gown and cap for university graduation too. Nothing special about the Year 12 graduation clothing, and what use it afterwards?
