Any tutoring centres offer trial tests?

Trial tests like those offered by eg. North Shore for the selective test. The entire 'course' is basically mock exams. I think they're usually run once a week in term 3 for the HSC. I'm after the questions and the practise rather than the theory.

Any tutoring centres offer trial tests?

Could someone convince me to go to a yearly course? Alot of people I know are madly getting coached for almost every subject and I don't see how it's different from your teacher having a revision lesson. Other than the questions you will get, thus my query. So does anyone know of tutoring...

Distinction Courses: Interest and discussion on the proposed cancellation of courses

Re: Distinction Courses Are we supposed to just send off the 2007 form thats on BOS? I think they might have forgotten to take the form off after last year's entries. I'm thinking about doing Cosmology or Philosophy. Except with philosophy, I love hearing about other's ideas but I'm...

    Going overseas in year 11?

Thanks for the support. I guess this means I'll have to stop my tradition of 'leaving everything to the holidays'. Finishing work during term... *shudders*

    Going overseas in year 11?

This is mainly a question for people who've been though year 11. Would you have survived going overseas for the entire duration of the Autumn holidays? I'm planning on going and I don't know if it will interrupt my school work. I've asked around and most people in my grade have told me that...

Full marks in any school cert exam?

Did anyone here get 100 in an exam? How many people from your school managed to get full marks in at least one exam? I know that NSG has got a fair few this year, over 10 people I think.

    Australian Citizenship Test

My concern is over the way that some individuals believe that migrants need to learn our language and take on our values in order to be a citizen. I'm not trying to say that society as a whole is reverting to the racism of decades past. I'll admit that we both have valid perspectives on this...

    mathemagic computer tutor LOL

Re: Yes I have Well I can understand why you may find it a waste of money, as in it's not helping you whatsoever. But I really don't see how it could actually drag your marks down. Unless you are actually taking your precious time off previous study and using the program. The refund policy...

    Australian Citizenship Test

Comparable not by the official government policy, but by the views and values of the public at the time. I'm saying that the way the people see these migrants is similar to the way people regarded migrants during the Assimilation/Integration periods. It is much more civil than those periods...

    Australian Citizenship Test

I believe that there is nothing wrong with the test, other than that it is essentially pointless. 20 questions which you could rote learn, hardly accomplishes anything. Not only that, but questions which regard absolutely irrelevant issues will not help citizens-to-be. Even with the concern of...

    Subject Selection

I already have enough units for HSC but need a filler (preferably a social science) which I will drop at the end of prelim. Any thoughts on Studies of Religion vs Society and Culture (ie. difficulty, assessments)? I am also considering PDHPE, but would it include practical lessons like 7-10...

    Anyone own a Nokia 6300?

It's apparently the current all-in-one phone from Nokia with all the latest features. However it doesn't have Symbian, which my current phone does. Does that mean you cannot have more than one application open at once or you cannot easily scroll to other open applications? Also I've read on...

    Work Experience

Was it with one of CSIRO's astronomy facilities? I wanted to apply for Industrial Physics at CSIRO but they aren't offering this year anymore due to some policy or other. They only let you get work exp at Parkes Observatory, which is miles away.

    I want to be a nerd !!

Lol while this correction thing is going on... I would have to say it is actually an exclamation mark. Which one? I don't reckon any on the net are. How do you get a real IQ test though? Do you go to a psychologist? OP: I don't see how posting your IQ on a forum and asking why you're not...

    Difficulty of Actuarial Studies

I do olympiad maths with the AMOC. I've heard that the olympiad content can contain first year uni subjects? Year 10 maths is basically putting numbers into formulas, while olympiad maths requires much more thinking.

    Difficulty of Actuarial Studies

Nah my original question was 'why' it is considered so difficult. There are stereotypes given to courses (eg. law is heaps of reading, which I think is true) and I wanted to know why people say it is so difficult.

    Difficulty of Actuarial Studies

Yeah thanks. Nothing beats actual experience though (even if it's just shredding paper). I guess I'm still concerned about the financial part of the course, as I will enjoy the maths part. Any recommendations of other courses that involve high levels of maths? Like eletrical engineering...

    UTS or Sydney Uni?

Lol. If you do a commerce/law at USYD, aren't the two faculties located a few kilometres away from each other? Law is all the way in St James, so would that mean their lectures and tutorials are there too? If so, a student doing a combined law/commerce (or basically any other combined law) would...

    Difficulty of Actuarial Studies

Hmm... it sounds like its more economics with a few mathematical concepts involved. I do hope its more maths orientated, but wouldn't a a BSc in Maths have more complex maths? I don't think that course is considered very difficult though. Well for work experience my aim is check out exactly...

    Difficulty of Actuarial Studies

I've been reading random threads on Actuarial Studies and the general consensus is that it's a really really hard course. What exactly makes it so difficult? Is the maths required very complicated, or is the workload extremely high, etc. Apparently the drop out rate is over 50%? My maths is...
