    hand rules

I think it'd be funny to be a co-ordinator for a physics exam watching all the students play around with their hands during a test. =] irrelevent i know...but still. ^^

    Semiconductors- interesting questions

between the two types of doping I don't think there is a difference, after all they both cause extrinsic conduction. within each type though, different elements are used for different properties such as control. not very useful info though. =]

if you're willing to put the effort into MX2, then yes. Mind you, it does require alot of effort. xD

    The Time Limit

No offence to anyone, but I don't think its the time limit that jeopardises people, but its more tilted towards bad time management. To overcome this, experience is required and knowing how to handle certain situations definately helps. You probably have heard this hundreds of times over your...

    calculator help(quick)

not really the trig ratio of the angle but the angle itself, since the trig ratio of the angle will be the same if the angle is degrees is equivalent to the angle in radians. but really, the only thing to worry about is to look at the given domain and make sure that you use radian values when...

    exam ideas?

no offence to anyone, but the 06' paper wasn't that difficult compared to 90's, such as '94 and '95. With regard to Q7. '06, it was pretty much just picking the right term for the expansion and it was harder 2u work. Another thing people don't do is scab little marks from questions they can't...

    calculator help(quick)

the basic thing to remember: pi(radians)=180(degrees) then work from there, 1(radian)=180/pi(degrees) 1(degree)=pi/180(radians) when determining what to give in your answer, ALWAYS refer to the given domain, eg. 0<x<2pi if it gives such a condition, give your answer in radians, even if its an...

    Hsc 1990-1999

Alot of 2 unit is already incorporated into 3u, eg. calculus (determining minima/maxima) and rates, its just little things that don't come up very often that get people that don't do 2u. (like me xD)

    Hsc 1990-1999

after 1990 the questions are all the same, only things i made mistakes on were careless errors such as differentiating trigonometric functions, forgetting to use the product rule. otherwise, the only other thing i'm worried about is if they ask a question on using simpsons/trapezoidal rule...

    1.a)consider n(x+1)^(n-1) n(x+1)^(n-1)=n[(n-1C0)+(n-1C1)x+...+(n-1Cn-2)x^(n-2)+(n-1Cn-1)x^(n-1)] let x=1, n(2^(n-1))=n[(n-1C0)+(n-1C1)+...+(n-1Cn-2)+(n-1Cn-1)] now, notice that n-1Cn-1=1, and (n-1C0=1) then, n(2^(n-1))=n[(n-1C1)+(n-1C2)...+(n-1Cn-2)] + 2n...

    exam ideas?

Um..I've done the extension 1 papers upto 1990 and after a couple times you get pretty sick of the questions. I don't think this year's paper will be that difficult. That said, I don't want to lower my guard like I did for extension 2. T_T" My advice, don't worry about how difficult the exam...
