correct, zero for the entire course.

working out is all ok but final answer is shit.

marks are given for reaching a certain stage or using a correct process. If it was worth 3 marks and you made an error in your last line of working, you would get 2 because you would of reached the first and second stage with no mistake, but not the final stage (correct answer).

What raw mark would i need to get a band 5?

And people are only estimating their marks, you need to take into account things like stupid mistakes that people make and such. I think if you take approx 5 off everyone's mark it would be a bit more accurate. I am in no way taking a stab at anyone here, but how often do you go over your paper...

    Q9 Probability

how can it be 15%x2? that would mean the probability of 2/2 not owning a phone would be greater than 1/1. it is 15%x15% which is 0.0225 or 9/400

    Exam Superstitions??

I always arrange my desk the same way. Unused writing booklets on the right, watch on the table at the back to the right, wallet on the floor to the right, pens and stuff to the left, with the paper over the top. When I finish with a booklet I always put it on the bottom of the pile. Might seem...

    messy writing

They will look at it, cover it in petrol, and let the mess burn, and give you a result of 0 for the entire course. A hitman will be sent out to off you as well.

Did mine on tuesday contained -Polynomials (We did it in prelim) -Integration by substitution -Binomial Theorm -Induction by series -Newtons Method of finding roots (we didn't do this part of polys in prelim because we did polys before differentiation) I reckon I did ok, I just messed up the...

    Standard or Advanced English???

My English marks from year 7 to mid year 10 were all very very bad, (50-70% never a fail though) so I picked Standard, I then put a bit more effort in and got a band 5 in SC (that said it was only just a 5, 80). I ranked 6th in my grade for Standard in prelim, and got put in a class of top 10...

    I feel soo BAD = (

correct, but also about the gap between you and the next people. If you come first in your grade internally, when they scale your schools internal marks, you will remain in first for the internal marks, even if the person who came second beats you in the external exam. 10% assessment is rather...

    Band 5 and below

Once your into your HSC course you have 100 times more motivation to study than for your SC.

    Band 5 and below

In my opinion, band 1 and 2 is poor band 3 is acceptable if the subject is a weak subject for you band 4 is good, unless the subject is one of your strengths band 5 is excellent, and if you get straight 5s you should be happy band 6 is brilliant, if you get band 6s then you should be very happy...

do u guyzz still do the assignment in the last minute???

They might as well set assessments with the due date being the day after, it wouldn't really affect anyone. Na, really, I do mine over the last week, I'm more motivated then, because there you HAVE to do it, otherwise you don't have to and because of this I am easily distracted.

    Aggravating and Mitigating factors

In sentencing someone: Aggravating factors are things that would make the penalty harsher (prior offences are an example) Mitigating factors are the opposite, and would make the penalty lesser (remorce is an example here) hope that helps :)

To Drop or not to drop?

It depends what you prefer, I do Ext 1 and I was helping a friend in general Maths. I found the questions to be a lot more wordy than in the maths I am used to. If you can adjust to that you should be fine as long as you don't go into the "General is year 8 maths" mode and really clock off.

SC - does it really matter?

If you're staying on it counts towards nothing, its nothing to stress or worry about, just read over your stuff for about an hour if you want to do well. It's nothing.
