Don't mind at all- another thing... Orthoptics seems like a pretty easy course to get into- my bestie was about 2 points below the cutoff but she still got in because she had spoken to someone about it and explained how enthusiastic she was to get into the course...

I'm hoping sooooo much it doesn't go above 86... i got 85.65.. when i spoke to somoen from the faculty, they said it could.... Does anyone know of any other ways to get in even if my UAI is too low?????????????

I was just wondering if anyone around here was thinking about doing this course????? Its UAI was 82 last year, but apparently, because they put in the European option, its jumped up to 85-86... Any thoughts??? I'm still clinging to the hope that i might just scrape in coz i really really wanna...

Yeh, subjects play a HUGE role in your UAI... if id known how much a difference, i wouldn't have dropped maths in yr 11 and gone to g.maths... BIG MISTAKE.... and i prolly woulda done something thing other then CAFS coz i really didn't care or like the subject...

I was underestimated in geo and general maths- geo- exam: 86 assessment 80 gmaths- exam: 85 assessment: 79 They both made a big difference in my uai too... GRRR!!!

From what i've gathered, orthoptics isn't as popular as optometry (hence the lower UAI)... plus theres the differences in qualifications- orthoptics is pretty limited in what u can do... with optometry, there are more fields that you can specialise in... I'm not entirely sure..... someone...

My bestie is about to start her 2nd yr studying orthopitcs at USYD.. its like eye therapy, a bit different from optometry, but it focuses on rehabilitating the eye aftr stresses and stuff like that. Correct me if i'm wrong!!! She is really enjoying the course! Hope that helped!!!

Apparently we're not alone... Most of my friends have been kissed, but where i'm from, decent guys are far and few between... Can't wait for uni!!!! ;) lol

I'm just wondering what O Week ACTUALLY involves. i mean you turn up at the uni... and then wat??????? I'm moving a far way to go uni, are there people there to help you if you get lost and what not????

I think it depends on your religion. I respect what other religions believe, but i certainly don't believe in no kissing before marriage. Its up to your own morals and ethics, i s'pose!

Yeh, thanx!!!! I contacted UAC.. but they weren't very helpful, they were like "i dunno.." (waste of time :cool: )

And i thought i was one of few.... I haven't been seriously kissed yet, and i'm 18 in 28 days!!!!! Just can't find the right guy...
