    The Da Vinci Code

Well I'm a Christian but I thought "The Da Vinci Code" was a really interesting read! I straight away went and bought "Angels and Demons" and I liked that too. Today I bought "Digital Fortress" and "Deception Point" and I can't wait to read them. In fact, why am I posting...I could be...

is n e 1 going to Syd Uni Ancient History Study Day on 25th June???

I remember these...I think I went to them last year! And now I understand why there were so many high schoolers walking around our uni on Friday :D

    Bachelor of Arts

I'm doing philosophy! My advice to you would be to do philosophy in second semester instead of first. I think Reality, Ethics and Beauty deals with more interesting aspects of philosophy than Society, Knowledge and Reason...although I suppose I shouldn't really judge since this is only my first...

    tear jerkers!

Gone With The Wind's my favourite tearjerker...my best friend laughs at the end when Rhett goes away and I scold her for being heartless.. I also cried during To Kill A Mockingbird, when I realised Tom was dead and that despite the overwhelming evidence proving his innocence, justice was not...

    Stereotypes?

Drews were the people walking around in capes and carrying bricks during the earlier parts of semester, weren't they? :D

    Listen To The Silence.

Well I've only gotten a couple of assessments back actually, I got 87 for a tute paper and I got 74 as an average for the philosophy essays. I was quite relieved with the 74 though, considering that I wrote both essays in a maximum of about three hours...including reading up on Rousseau, Locke...

    Listen To The Silence.

Wow Gregor...have you gotten anything BESIDES a HD on your assessments yet? How did you go on the philosophy essays, if you don't mind me asking?

    Gone With the Wind

I read the book waaaay before I saw the movie and it's still one of my favourite books today! I've read "Scarlett" as well but I don't really like it, I much prefer the original Mitchell :) I tend to like books better than movies because the movies do change things, even if its really subtle...

    What are people's timetables like?

Well to answer ur question veg, I was hoping for arts/law (required UAI: 99.6) so arts was the next best thing. I did get into other courses such as media/comm at NSW and business at UTS, but I figured arts at Sydney was the first step towards my dream :) And I'm not regretting it yet.

    The Literary Acquisition Thread

Hmmm I wish I'd gotten here earlier :) But nevertheless, these are my most recent acquisitions: 1) Tolstoy-Anna Karenina 2) Austen-Emma (yes I did that book in the HSC but I'd read it prior to studying it and finally decided to get a copy...) 3) Ovid-Metamorphoses 4) The Odyssey...though I...

    Hours....morbid curiosity

Hehehe, sounds like JKDDragon is a bit jealous of us arts students...maybe he should try and write my philosophy essays and then we'll see if he still considers us fortunate!

    Hours....morbid curiosity

I'm just reading all these posts with "28" and "26"...I only do 12 with a B/Arts! (And I get two days off...hehe, ok I won't rub it in..) I agree with Shelley though...arts requires a lot of reading...especially with ancient and philosophy!

    people at usyd

Lol...that WOULD be interesting...but where are you going to find someone to admit that they're snobby, so that we can test this?

    What are people's timetables like?

*sigh* well i haven't been enjoying philosophy as much as I'd hoped I would, but perhaps thats my fault for not completing the required reading, let alone the extended! The philosophers themselves are quite interesting, particularly the last three and I found some of their theories quite...

    Listen To The Silence.

Wow..HD on your first uni assessment...nice work Gregor! I have two tutorial papers due this week that I haven't started yet...I think I should... My fav subject at the moment is probably American History..my least fave is philosophy...although its really only because of the lecturer! However...

Signing up for Clubs and Societies.

LOL puffkenny, apparently SUDS do 16 shows a year! You're gonna be heaps busy! And maybe next year you'll be doing a new "Suede and Cerise Sanders" story... But then I know I'll be busy....I joined 11 societies, including Literati, Anime, Ancient/Classoc (yes, they're the wine drinking, toga...
