How much does biz get scaled down??

I sat my HSC in 2002 and business studies was one of my subjects and all two units were counted in my UAI. I went thru year 11 and 12 with everyone saynig that BS has bad scaling and that it will kill my HSC. But I think people place too much emphasis the scaling. I got 89 in Business...

    newspapers for economic articles

You'll be able to pick it up from most newsagents. Have a look around where they have BRW etc. or just ask. The state library is really good if you want to score a free copy. Just go in and photocopy the relivant stuff from the economist and just about any other magazine/newspaper you could...

    Economics by Correspondence

I did a corresponance course for Business Studies in 2002 and 2003. I also did eco in classroom environment. Trust me, corespondance should only be as a last resort. It is soooo hard to get yourself motivated to work and, no matter how well you think you'll stick to a structured pattern, you...

    newspapers for economic articles

I subscribed to both the SMH and the Fin Review in 2003 and i think they were both VERY useful for eco. Get a subscription and they will give u discount rates cause you're a student. Or order the newspapers through your school. They get delivered to your school office and you get them at dirt...

    Leading Edge Holiday Workshops

While I did economics in 2003, I didn't go to any of the leading edge eco workshops. However, I did go to a business studies one and it was run by the same guys within LE. It was sooooo worth it. They pack you up with tonnes of resources and are great at teaching too. A mate of mine did the...

    Uni Cutbacks

Hey Mambomeg Thanks heaps for your offer. A friend of mine who is also doing Agri Eco this year told me about it and I got interested in it as a back-up course to Bach of Eco and Social Sciences. But now that I got 93.85 I should be able to get into my first choice. I'm just hoping the entry...

    Uni Cutbacks

i was speaking to a person from Agricultural Economics at the uSyd open day and she told me that a lot of places were being cut from that subject and the entire Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. So maybe they are cutting places from the low mark and less popular courses.

    ANU option

If your looking at doing asian studies, then maybe you should have a look at ANU. I don't know much about the asian side, but i was looking at ANU as a back-up for uni of syd for myself, and it seemed to have a very large asian, and particularly south-east asian, focus. ANU is still a...

    Ambition HAS ARRIVED!

I'm not 18 til march so its a bit annoying to see that Ambition has been made over 18's. Considering its an after hsc party and, while maybe not evenly half, a large number of ppl are going to be under 18 it does seem to defeat its purpose a bit. The whole wrist band idea is a good one, i've...

    Bach Eco and Social Sciences

Ah. At the commerce/economics faculty lecture at the open day they made it seem like it was some brand new course that they created from nothing last year. What sort of changes were made?

    Leading Edge seminars/workshops

I don't know about their economics ones. But I went to the business studies revision one during the last holidays. I thought it was very good. It was a bunch of fairly young guys running it and they were really pretty good with it. Like interaction, not just preaching. I liked it. Plus they give...

    Bach Eco and Social Sciences

A glorified arts degree? The way I had always looked at it was that it was an economics degree with a bit of an edge over a normal economics degree. And about the talk of the UAI cut-off moving up. I'd say that it will prob move up a fair bit. Last year the UAI was 91.25 or something like...

    RFTG Philosophers

Same here We weren't told anything about using them either. Is this some expectaion or is it something we can just throw in to make ourselves look good. Because I don't even remember reading them used in the exemplars.

    Le Morte D'Arthur (Yr11)

wow. memories. wow. i rememebr we did Arthurian legends as a topic in yr 11. its was actually pretty funny. u should read a couple of the stories. its soo funny. they just go around the place on their horses, challenge anyone they can find to a duel over the most petty things and then they win...

    Retreat From The Global

Hey all. I'm doing Castle/Heaney/McLeod and am shocked to find other ppl doing the same. Throughout the year when i was looking for info it was soo hard to find anything that covered all three. I actually like rftg, but i think thats cause its grown on me over time. Whats this about...

    CSSA results

nah, i'm not really too bothered. Like the whole Marcellin vs Waverley thing, i don't really care too much about. But even still, the trialis hard to be compared cause it depends on the teacher. The two essay questions could be marked hard or easily.
