Taller players are preferred - but only in specific positions (key forward/back/ruck). Players of any stature are ideal for positions such as midfield, flank and roving. The only discriminating factor lies in the necessity for fitness and ball skills. Don't tell me League isn't discriminating in...

    Up and Coming Aussie bowlers!!!

McGrath was also thought to have been overrated at a similar age. Heck, Watsons only 23 - he's got some 12 years of a career left. He is only bound to improve. Also Watson has been quite impressive with the ball in domestic cricket. That was because Warne wasn't playing either. India had a...

    Up and Coming Aussie bowlers!!!

Either because Clarke didn't want to bowl, Ponting didn't rate him above Lehmann's experience, or the team possibly didn't need him. Of the Aussie future bowling line-up post world cup, the combination of Lee-Tait will still be the premier attacking pair in the world. What Australia should...

    100UAI possible?

Wow wrx, i'm impressed! But of course its my sister's post (check the date). And slide rule, it's not necessarily about luck, but borne more out of consistency throughout the year. You need very competent assessment ranks, and english skills are a must - seeing that its compulsary.

    Clarke winning the AB medal...

Statistics are not a factor in the Allan Border Medal. Those who actually watched it would know that votes are tallied after each game in a performance-based style. No-one cares about averages, just the match performance.

Expect an exodus-type retirement run AFTER the 2007 WC. The cup should still be ours. Most players are setting the cup as their goal. I just hope the next generation are ready to be thrusted into the side, cause there'll be quite a few.

    Clarke winning the AB medal...

*As posted from another thread* As for Marto, yeh he was a touch unlucky considering he hasn't much time left in his career (compared to MC), but I suppose a lot of his runs came in games where other players scored the runs as well. Eg, scoring 105 when the team scores 580. I used to hate...

No it was Justin Langer who scored the most runs in the year - the most in the world! (some 1400) As for Marto, yeh he was a touch unlucky considering he hasn't much time left in his career (compared to MC), but I suppose a lot of his runs came in games where other players scored the runs as...

Brisbane get an extra million in sarary cap and other indemnities, and Sydney an extra half million every year - hardly fair to the other clubs. (And don't bad mouth Carlton, the most successful club in the league)
