    Reliance on laptops/computers for Law?

this is also in the faq section - bring a laptp if you can afford one, i doubt with law you would have diagrams so it would be pretty useful. Also you get wireless interenet in most lecture halls. Be warned if you dont have self control you will get distracted with a laptop

    Any existing ANU students?

Most of the rooms are pretty basic, read the faq (the section about choosing accom) then go from there. Probably the nicest is UL (and was built only 2 years ago). The others are older, but all have little differences (most of which i've tried to explain in the faq thread/and can be found on...

    cost of settling into uni?

As per above, but it really depends what subjects you're doing. If your course has heaps of people, you're very likely to get a 2nd hand textbook from older year students. In a smaller faculty, it becomes a bit more of a challenge. EDIT: just be careful with bias. If you ask someone 'what books...

    Labor Right Steamrolls Again

all i'm saying is that the voting was very close - perhaps your vote may have made a difference. It wasn't a complete energize overthrow.

    Information on Accommodation

it's $300 a week, not $1000 - tbh i reckon you get pretty good value. I wouldn't put a price on your first year uni experience. retail, hospitality, intern-ships.

    Labor Right Steamrolls Again

some of the positions were lost/won by 2 votes.

    Information on Accommodation

you get 21 meals, water, electricty, washers, dryers and an organised social life. Pretty much all you pay for is your booze. It's not that bad of a deal really.

So do they reimburse you for the phone call?

    Laptops in class?

I was at a school where laptops were compulsory. I'll just say they're not beneficial to the 'learning experience'. They were kind of useful for geography and 'essay intensive' courses, but otherwise (unless you're very motivated) a complete waste of time and money.

will i be eligible for anything?!

which you have to prove (by previously mentioned methods). Just living in a different house/state doesn't automatically make you independent. EDIT - my posts don't make sense because someone has gone around deleting all theirs. Just go with the flow!
