    Non recent school leaver transfers?

    it's 50% UAI, 50% uni marks. Some uni's (eg UTS) also require personal statements. I think sometimes you can also transfer internally but i think this occurs less now. if you haven't completed a full year of uni i think they just take uai.

    I think that a lot of people also tend to forget that UAI reflects both supply and demand, not just demand eg. UAIs dropped for many courses in 2005, this in most cases probably was more due to increase in supply rather than decrease in demand. I think the main point is to choose the course...

    In my opinion (note: do NOT take this as factual), teachers also "tweak" results when marking your internal assessments anyway, e.g. if they believe you are a 'good' student and you don't perform as highly as they would have expected you to, they can be inclined to give you a better mark on an...

    Missed cutoff for usyd/unsw combined law? What did you do?

    Yep. If law is the only thing you are interested in, or you are really desperate to do law, do it somewhere with a lower cutoff. If not, do the degree that you wanted to combine with anyway and then do law afterwards. It will probably take a year or so longer but you get a lot more flexibility...
