    james ruse

Ruse people are smart? Who would have thought that only accepting the top 1% of kids would result in a generally very high average UAI! All sarcasm aside, Ruse students avergage about 99.3 as a UAI which is about what u would expect. If it had been any lower than 99 then the school would have...

    Parents Reaction to UAI marks

Hmmmm, slightly different story here. Got 99.95, mum was very happy (she had been worrying for a while about what I would get since I had told her i screwed up a few of the exams) but Dad just kind of nodded and went back to the newspaper. I guess some pretty high expectation run in the family...

I think if it bothers you alot you should talk to Rench or one RageRunner, they are much better at explaining it than me.

    What UAI did you get?

well, jsut as my last post explained, the reason you are getting a better UAI is it is relatively more hard to get 70's and 80's in your subjects than 80's and 90's in the subjects your friends are doing. Whether or not the subject is more challenging is not important only that 'smarter' ppl do...

    What UAI did you get?

It is not about how subjectively 'challenging' the courses are. It is about how well students who pick Ext English do in other subjects. Due to the fact that generally ext math students do better across the board, ext maths gets scaled better as it is more challenging to attain a higher rank...

i cant believe it was so low!

Sam: 99.95 Actual: 99.95 I think the discrepancies between SAM and the actual uai increases as the UAI gets lower.

    Question 19 - Apollo 13/Newton in the Driver's Seat

ok, it doesn't matter too much to me this point but just one last point for clarification. After the burn was completed (read: the slingshot maneuvre was over) Jim Lovell said "We just put Isaac Newton is in the drivers seat" (or "Now Isaac Newton's in the drivers' seat"). So Isaac Newton sat...

    Question 19 - Apollo 13/Newton in the Driver's Seat

You sure? I seem to remember the question as saying "after the burn was completed Jim Lovell was reported as saying { ---- }", and after the burn implies after the slingshot maneuvre

    Question 19 - Apollo 13/Newton in the Driver's Seat

I am with Captain Gh3y again. The question said AFTER the burn had been completed. The burn was required to get them out of moon's gravity and implies that the slingshot manouvre had already been completed. He THEN said that Newton was in the driving seat, so while i dont think you will lose...

    existence of the aether model

Ok haven't looked here for a while but: You said " which means speed of light becomes the absolute frame of refernce" which implies that the aether cannot be an absolute frame of reference as they cannot BOTH be absolute frame of references. Therefore your statement implies that the...

    Industrial Chemistry Equilibrium question

Chicago I think you need to re-read the question. It said find the equilibrium constant and, as shown in my above post the correct answer is 14.8. Secondly, this new constant is at 25 degrees, a LOWER temperature to the constant they give you (2.08). Therefore you can conclude that the eaction...
