    2008 student id's

Rekkusu: how does the 100 point check work? I'm assuming each ID equates to a certain number of points? Because that would be more feasible than bringing my passport

    2008 student id's

I'm on the same boat! Isn't there any other way to prove id other than passport?

    B Commerce/Economics or B Commerce

Why is that so? Or are you being sarcastic?

    Finance is crap

Where do Comm/Eco students fit? I'm hoping to get into IB (I know long way from now) with majors in Economics + Finance but I think that classifies me as "everyone else"!? I'm also considering transferring from Comm/Eco to Comm/Law but I guess that'll be tough :/

How much group work in Bcom?

Damn that sucks... Anyone know if Business Economics and Finance have group work?

    B Commerce/Economics or B Commerce

Sounds very complex! What course are you doing tempco? So far I'm leaning towards doing B Commerce/Economics, as it does give me flexibility in terms of my career (i.e. having an "economics" degree) but I'll have to see.

    B Commerce/Economics or B Commerce

Conspirocy: what's business law like? Sounds awfully similar to the Commerce/Law degree from my perspective. When you talk about "intro masters", I'm assuming getting masters for a major in B Commerce? Also when you mentioned "WAM"... is that supposed to stand for something? I'm new so I...

    B Commerce/Economics or B Commerce

Oh thanks for clearing that out - I kind of guessed anyway. Well like I said in my original post, I'm unsure if I should do a 4th year of University or attempt to get work immediately because I don't deny the fact that real life work experience (relevant of course) prevails over every...

    B Commerce/Economics or B Commerce

Uh... I'm not sure what you mean by "B Economics = B Economics"? Could you re-phrase that please? Are you trying to say that a major in economics (under B Commerce) is equivalent to B Economics? Your second paragraph doesn't make sense either... you dropped commerce to do honours rather than...

2008 UNSW school of business students rollcall!

Uh.... I thought this was meant to be a roll call! Anyways, I'm William and I'm doing Bachelor of Commerce/Economics hoping to get into the corporate banking sector! Not sure about honours just yet...

    B Commerce/Economics or B Commerce

Hi, I've already enrolled and made my timetables for my 1st semester for Bachelor of Commerce/Economics (essentially the same as Bachelor of Commerce, since first year undergraduates do the same core subjects bar elective) at UNSW. However, my issue is I'm unsure if I should just do Bachelor...

    Studying for Business Studies

Like plenty of past students have already mentioned, success in business studies lies in memorising the WHOLE syllabus. If you want to get the best possible mark you should memorise every part of it because in the HSC exam, they're going to SPECIFICALLY mention a dot point and everything under...

    Federal budget 2007-2008

Tax cuts of over $27 billion if I recall correctly, which can't be good for inflation, especially with the most recent tightening of monetary policy by .25% to 6.5%.

Is anyone else over the HSC?

Hear Hear. Well said. It seems reasonable that English is compulsary in Australia but the course renders that idea ridiculous.

Re: First Preferences? Bachelor of Commerce/Law at UNSW.

Is anyone else over the HSC?

Personally, I think the HSC puts far too much pressure on a student, as it ultimately decides your future. However, I'm handling it rather well but I'm sure the pressure that comes when it's time for HSC will be far too overwhelming for some and be a distraction for others. You see in the...

    eco or business??

It's "boring" because you have to learn the fundamentals of economics, like demand and supply, 5 sector flow of income, etc. But I think it's the same for every subject, learning the basics/nit and grit of things to ensure you can understand the more complex topics. Once you learn this, it gets...

    eco or business??

I actually thought business studies has more mathematics involved, with accounting being a whole topic, whilst the only maths I recall doing in economics is "the multiplier", which is a one off/small section of a topic.

    eco or business??

Economics, in my opinion, is a lot more about logic and common sense than Business Studies. The ability to think about situations, then use your economic knowledge to create a logical sequence of events from just one change to the economy is vital. If you do not have this, it will be EXTREMELY...

    Dolce&Gabbana in Sydney?

If you choose to wear Dolce & Gabbanna, then that's purely your discretion. However, to say that it makes you feel superior to other "lower" class brands is ridiculous and arrogant. Sweat shops is NOT moral regardless of how you twist your argument. The unbelievably low level of wages paid...
