three sciences!! is any1 else doin 3??

A few of my friends do all three sciences and what they find is that come assesment periods, all the science assesments are pretty much clumped together. But our school gets set assesment periods, so it isn't much of a bother. Damn wtf, you guys are in year 11 and are already looking over...

help english extension and other sub

Mmmmm Pho =] Well what I found was that prelim Ext. English was pretty much centered around self study and farmiliarising you with the kind of stuff you would do in the HSC course (at least I think it was). Our class just watched videos the whole year and it was pretty much a bludge anyway...

I think it would be a shame if Baghdatis didn't make it to the finals after mkaing it this far already. I mean, can you imagine what the crowds will be like in the finals if he made it lol Yeah, you got to love the way he bounces the ball before he serves

    Preference Of Text Books

Macquarie>Excel You might want to get specific text books made for the subject instead of study guides. Like, get Conquering Chemistry for chemistry.

how is chem for prelim and HSC???

HSC course is a lot more interesting than preliminary chem. Practise writing equations down through out the year as it isn't exactly something you can just cram in. Kind of like maths, where you need to practise a lot. But I never did this for prelims, so I kind of suck at writing equations...

    eco or bio?!

Do both the subject and drop Physics haha Then you'll have the same subjects as me for prelims Don't worry about the fact that you didn't do Commerce in years 9/10. I also didn't do Commerce, but chose Economics anyway. You'll struggle a bit in the first few weeks and feel kind of shit...

    Biology Text Book

I heard from my Biology teacher that the Year 12 Jacaranda was really good for the course and that the top students all used it. I'm not sure about the Year 11 one though, as I used mainly Macquarie and Heinamen. Also the book's like a freaken encyclopedia so I really can't be bothered reading...

    which elective is best?

At our school, all biology classes do genetics:the code broken. My teacher said it was a lot easier to digest than the other optiosn as we would have gained the basis of the topic when we did blueprint of life. But damn, I would have loved to do the human story.

    Who Gets Tutored/Coached?

I get tutored for Maths. Price is pretty good ($15/hr) and I've found that since I've started tutoring my speed in answering questions has improved.

    Q-Newly Industrialising Economies?

NICs are characterised by their high per capita incomes and the enormous amounts of economic growth they experienced during the 90s. NICs have essentially shifted form being developing nations into developed/advanced countries. This has been achieved through adopting a free market economic...

Help for Bio--I have a good site for one of the syllabus points

Living organisms can be found over a large range of temperatures from - 40C to over 120C. This basically means that there are organisms that are capable of being found in almost all of the temperature conditions on Earth. However despite this, the large majority of living organisms and...

Ext. Eng - drop it, or not?

As soon as the oppurtunity came up, I dropped Ext. English. It wasn't because I was doing poorly in it, but because I just couldn't be bothered working through another year of it. To me, the subject was mostly a bludge throughout Year 11. Classes were pretty damn interesting but the homework we...
