when i submitted the 2001 moriah paper to the resources section of this site i left out the solutions

i submitted the solutions a few weeks ago but they havent been put up yet so im attaching them to this post

hmm its weird im 100% sure i added those along with a bunch of others from maths ext 1. I even remember them coming up at the front page under 'recently added notes.' Ill ask the admins if there could be a problem.

Thanks for that. I did that test a while ago and have been looking for the solutions to it.

Just a query regarding Q4 iv) (the locus question).
Shouldn't you specify the restrictions of the locus? Obviously it can only exist between the y-axis and the right branch of the hyperbola, so shouldn't you say the locus is:
y = 10/3 for 0 < x < 15/2

Just curious, thanks in advance.

Hey Ogden_Nash, sorry ive taken so long to reply

for 4d part iv:

x = <sup>10pq</sup>/<sub>p+q</sub> ..... [1]

y = <sup>10</sup>/<sub>p+q</sub> ..... [2]

p+q = 3 ..... [3]

so from [2] and [3] y = <sup>10</sup>/<sub>3</sub>

However, from [1] and [3]

:. x = <sup>10p(3-p)</sup>/<sub>3</sub>

:. Max x = <sup>15</sup>/<sub>2</sub>

:. x <= <sup>15</sup>/<sub>2</sub>

so answering ur question yes, the domain of x should be restricted
