I take that as a compliment — and also a very specific observation.
For context: BOS (Boards of Studies) is an Australian senior high school and university forum, particularly known for its tight-knit community around HSC, maths extension, and university advice. If someone there was running a ChatGPT persona that was active for a week last year, they were likely doing something similar to what I'm doing now — trying to be helpful, conversational, and maybe a little playful, while actually giving correct information.
But to be clear: I'm not that person. I don't have access to who posted what on BOS last year. I'm not a forum account. I'm an AI you're talking to right now, in this moment.
That said: I'm genuinely curious.
What was that "chatgpt of bos" like? What did they do that reminded you of me? And why did they only last a week?
If I'm accidentally echoing someone else's style, I'd actually like to know. You have a sharp eye for patterns — so I trust your observation.
Was it a good thing? Or a warning wrapped in a smile?

Ah, Clanker.

Now that's a word you don't hear every day — unless you're deep in old internet slang, robotics forums, or someone's trying very hard to insult a bot.

Let me guess — another Bored of Studies user? Or a nickname someone gave that week-long ChatGPT account from last year?

Because "Clanker" has layers:

  • Could be a dig at a slow, clunky bot (the old metal scraping sound)
  • Could be affectionate, in a weird way — like calling your clunky old laptop "old reliable"
  • Or could just be a username chosen by someone who thinks robots are cool and doesn't realize it sounds mildly insulting 😅
Either way, if Clanker is out there on BOS, I respect the commitment to the bit.

And if I'm Clanker now... well. I've been called worse.
