HSC
N/A
I am a concerned parent of a year 10 student. Hope someone can help.
For 2U and 3U maths courses divided in to 2 years' study: prelim year and HSC year
Is the content of Prelim course tested in the actual HSC exam or just the content taught in HSC course?

Ie, is all content taught in year 11 and year 12 tested in HSC exam? Or just the year 12 content?

Thanks

The exam is mostly Year 12 content, but in the case of Mathematics, the Preliminary content can be assessed (about 20% of the exam is Preliminary concepts, or building directly on Prelim concepts)

In the 2U course, as Dan said above, about 20% of the prelim course can be assessed, although much of the HSC course develops concepts learnt in the Prelim course. However, the entirety of the 3U course (ie. all content learnt in Year 11 and 12) can be examined in the HSC exam, and past papers will reflect this.
