2nd person:(had advanced english, had higher mathematics but dropped them both)
general maths
standard english
hositality
modern history
drama
Legal studies

3rd person: (had higher mathematics but dropped, doing okay in every other subject)
2u Advanced english
general maths
biology
Senior science
music
business studies

4th person:(struggling in chem, but overall doing okay in every other subject)
3U english
general maths
biology
chemistry
Ancient History
SLRS (1 unit)

all four of them are hardworking.

do their subject choices have an impact on their UAI? what are their chances of making it into a good uni?

and also is it true that if you did an extention course your marks would get scaled higher?

thank you x]

It would all depend on their marks, and how hard they worked. If a person did well in Extension Maths, they would probably get scaled better than someone who did just as well in General or 2u (Adv) Maths. However in saying that, the person doing Extension Maths would probably be working harder than the person doing General Maths.

Each subject has a different scaling: http://www.boredofstudies.org/scaledmeans.php

However you will probably work harder and better in a subject you like rather than a subject you do not like but scales better.
