If you top the state in one subject but get band 3s in everything else, you're still screwed.

well m8 thats only 2-4 units of the 10 that must count, if u got 98 i guess ud kill 3u as well...but dont neglect the other 6 units coz theyre quite important to help u get the highest uai possible...keep working hard and ull b fine

No. You need another 8 units to even receive a UAI. And you need to do very WELL in another 8 units to receive a GOOD UAI.

Furthermore, it's quite possible your 98% would equate to an 85% here - but that's what the moderation process is for.

If you manage 75% raw in the HSC, you're well on you're way to a band 6, which is very good for your UAI. You got 98% raw on what you claimed was a hard test. You do the maths (cringe-worthy pun). :)

Depends on the test difficulty...
Yeah, 98% does not sound really achieveable in the HSC exam, equating to a 117/8.

Anyway it seems early to have your half yearly result.

Because it would usually involve topping the state.

On that note, we still don't know the band cut-offs for Ext 2 maths. BOS is so extremely ssslllooowww with the FOI applications.

I'll cite last year's riverview trial here, I think a (relatively) large percentage of the state would have gotten 120 if that was set as the HSC exam...

But it wasn't, was it? Hence why I said, HSC exam.

Riverview isn't that bad...look at Keypad.

I was just reinforcing your point:)
I'm not knocking the school, just saying they need harder trials...
