hey guys.... just a simple question that I'm kinda stuck on for an assessment - based on superconductors:

- Name some examples of metals, metal alloys and compounds which are superconductors.

I can't seem to find much on google except for ..... mercury, and some other complex ones.
Does anyone know where I could find anymore info on superconductors .&etc. ?//
thanks heaps in advance.

Wikipedia said:
Superconductivity occurs in a wide variety of materials, including simple elements like tin and aluminium, various metallic alloys, some heavily-doped semiconductors, and certain ceramic compounds containing planes of copper and oxygen atoms...
For some more information, click here. Hope that helped.

Ba0.6K0.4BiO3
La1.85Sr0.15CuO4
YBa2Cu3O7

I guess you're using an old textbook, huh?

Here are some cool superconductors, from my new one:

Name of element/alloy | Critical temperature (temp when it becomes superconductor)

Niobium-aluminium-germanium | 21K(kelvin)

Tin-niobium | 18K

YBCO | 90K

HgBa2Ca2Cu3O8 | 133K

The textbook isn't old. I doubt they'd list all the superconductors, though.

  • describe and explain how photocells(photodetectors) work include a picture showing parts, electron flow, holes direction and current flow direction
