I'm of the understanding that every single band 6 or state ranking economics student went into detail during essays in terms of events/ issues beyond the syllabus
This thread: List all the issues/ potential areas you can explore/ are relevant to today's global environment ...
I also think a lot of the issues can overlap in pretty much all the topics
Some things which might be important in recent times:
- sovereign debt / Cyprus crisis
- Recent depreciations of the $A
- the ongoing post-GFC global expansionary fiscal & monetary policies: is another inflationary bubble on the horizon?
- slow down of Chinese growth & its impact on Australian revenues -> What does this mean for the Australia in the short and long term? Can we really depend on China?
- 'generation jobless' - the rise of unemployment in the world's youth -> Where is the labour market headed?
- Ford's failure: A reflection of the Australian economy -> Moving away from manufacturing and restructuring toward an efficient manufacturing base, or abandoning manufacturing all together?
Post up any links or general issues which you think are key to the current economic situation and will be essential for hsc essays
