Hi everyone,

I was just wondering, I'm the only person in my school doing extension history. Is this an advtantage or disadvantage in terms of scaling and things like that? My marks for Ancient are fairly high.

Thanks

It's neither an advantage or a disadvantage, from my understanding.

Your mark is just calculated the same way as it would be if you were in a group of people; just that your mark now constitutes that entire group.

Pretty unhelpful, I know, but if you're doing well in ancient and you like extension, why not give it a go? You can always drop out if you don't like it.

Otherwise, have a chat with your teacher and maybe your year coordinator.

No matter how good/bad you go in your internal assessments, when it comes to HSC time your assessment mark is only as good (or as bad) as your external exam mark.

I.e.

If you get 40 in your exam you will get 40 as an internal mark, if you get 20 externally your internal mark will be 20.

You're at an advantage if you're great at exams and at a disadvantage if you're crap at exams:p
